Do you mean Tara Patrick (aka Carmen Electra) or Tera Patrick (apparently, a porn star I've never heard of until I looked it up just now)? As long as it's not measured in tarareids, I don't care. She's dumb as a brick, and I don't even think she's all that attractive. Certainly not ugly, but just not very attractive. I know a lot of people, especially on AT, would probably disagree with me. I just don't find stupid people attractive. I feel the same way about Cameron Diaz.

Is it just me? Probably. I have a lot different tastes than most people do. Restaurants that I like go out of business all the time. Drives me nuts. I actually liked Guns'n'Roses when they came out with November Rain and other similar songs. The military march drum solo was great. Most people thought those songs sucked. I like Coke Zero, which, according to recent threads here, most people don't seem to like. I prefer to drive a stick-shift, while most people prefer automatics because they're easier. I like manual transmissions because I feel like I'm better in control of the vehicle. Automatics don't seem to have the same "get-up-and-go" that manuals have. Also, I'm a short, skinny Libertarian white guy, and I am a huge fan of sumo wrestling.

So what do I know anyway?

Tara Patrick isn't Carmen Electra's nickname, it's her real name.

Maybe AMD will catch up to the Ghz ratings soon??

AMD still bases their numbers off of Mhz. 3000+, 3400+ ect..

How long till we see stuff like the Athlon 64 5.2+?

That is incorrect.

Those are the SI base-10 terms, not the binary terms.

One kilobyte equals 10 to the 3rd power, or 1,000 bytes.

The ISO/IEEE1541 binary terms are kibi, mebi, gibi, tebi, pebi, exbi...

One kibibyte equals 2 to the 10th power, or 1,024 bytes.
One gibibyte equals 2 to the 30th power, or 1,073,741,824 bytes.

etc..

Only hard-drive marketing materials use the erroneous SI units.

The slang for 2^40 bytes will be eithe 'tebis'(teb-ees) or 'tibs'. 'Tera' is for n00bs.

And as I stated before, if the IEEE wanted to change computer vernacular before it was ingrained into everday usage, they should have done it 30 years ago. They were a bit late to the party to try to change things now.

Jiggawatts???

I have a 20 Jiggawatts hard drive?

Ok, I shouldn't have said it "should be Jiga" Jiga is one of the pronounciations for Giga that is in the dictionary and as such is equally valid and geeky.
