It doesn't matter what the Terminators look like. If it's directed by McG instead of Cameron, it's going to suck.

One thing I never understood about terminator is if they can go back and time to kill John Conner why don't they just go back to like 1850 and kill his great great grandfather? Much less resistance.. what is the old man going to do, whip out his six shooter?

Possibly too risky. Going that back far increases the chances of *huge* upsets in the Time Continuum. Skynet may never be built, etc.

*shrug*

meh, looks more like "Transforminators" than anything else, another pillage of a masterpiece Sci-fi film. Saw a preview of "The day the earth stood still" remake and I almost gagged, another hatchet-job..

This is set only 10 years after judgment day, the others were past that when the terminators were sent back.

That's why he talks about the earlier versions then what the others had.

Don't forget, without the initial attack on Sarah Connor then Skynet would never have existed as there would be robot arm and chip for Cyberdyne to discover. This is what the time travel movie elite refer to as a pre-destination paradox.

I think the development of Skynet is inevitable. One way or another, human progress will invent artificial intelligence, and Skynet will be born. I think the initial attack on Sarah Connor just accelerated it.

What is up with Hollywood's infactuation with super-size robots and cars lately? I swear, if I see another sci-fi with a Ford Mustang in it.....

OH! WHAT NOW?!

We could argue about time paradoxes all day in the Terminator universe, but we all know it's just an awesome series (mainly 1/2, 3 was meh). I've always wanted to see the post-apocalyptic part of the universe, though. It looks kinda like Fallout, actually.

i know i was just addressing the "without the initial attack on Sarah Connor then Skynet would never have existed" part. Remember in T3 the T-101 kept saying judgment day is inevitable and we find out skynet is a computer virus? All I'm saying is that Skynet is inevitable due to technological advancement and the inevitable invention of artificial intelligence. I think the Terminator writers are implying that no matter what AI will turn against humans.

Yep, I agree with you. I just thought the thread was getting derailed a bit.

good science fiction is supposed to be logical and internally consistent. all fiction should be actually, but sci-fi especially because it's supposed to be an extrapolation based on reality.
