I just didn't like it. It was lame and cheesy. I couldn't believe they used a cliche hardnosed General character. I called that horrible "give him my heart" bullshit the second they said he had a human heart.
My biggest problem: Skynet set the worst trap ever. Seriously. Not to mention they have the absolute worst base defenses ever. Weren't they at war? How does the enemy just sneak in? Why did they pass up so many opportunities to kill John Conner? Seriously, wasn't that the point? Would a cold calculating machine really just pass up the opportunity just to see if their diabolic plan worked?
Oh man, the chip that controls their super infiltrating human-machine is easily accessible and destroyable. WTF?
Finally. Wasn't the terminator made as a unit to get into the bases and destroy? It was a stealth weapon so to speak. Why did they unleash their newest model as the key piece of the trap? Did he really need to be camouflaged as human? And jesus christ, why didn't Conner say something when it turned out to be his former father figure?
Usually I am not one to pick a movie apart, but when it is that bad you just kind of have to do it. I could go on and on. It was just bad story telling and horrible twists.
I will say I did enjoy the throw back scenes. I loved watching the terminator walk up the steel grate steps. I lol'ed when Young Reese said "Come with me if you want to live". There was some good stuff, too bad the rest just fell to pieces.
EDIT:With that said, I am going to bed. Hate on if you must. Throw some mud if you agree. I will continue in the A.M.
