Hmm, I should watch it again, though I just remember being very bored by it. I really only like the first Terminator movie anyway, so it's not like I went in with huge baggage or expectations, I was just hoping for a decent, fun sci-fi flick, but it certainly did not turn out that way as I recall.

Hmm I think I can understand being bored by it. It does have some action, but there's also a lot of time spent with that Marcus character. Although, it's kind of nice when he's with the hot A10 pilot.

You know what though? Every time I hear a Keurig brew coffee, it sounds a lot like that big collector Terminator in Salvation. *wheeeee whiiiirrrrr* :hmm:

Still, it's way better than T4.

Is anyone apart from the OP looking forward to another Terminator movie? IMO, the first two nailed where this idea can go, T3 was apparently totally unnecessary (haven't seen it, but the premise of "the latest Terminator looks like a hot chick wearing lots of leather!" is lacking somewhat), and T4 ballsed up any chance of continuing the battle in the post-apocalyptic era.

Pretending that T3 and 4 didn't exist might allow the writers some lee-way, but unless you've got a stunning idea that uses the T4 era, what's the point? Send more terminators back to the past to fail some more? Keep sending back the same-looking Terminator despite said Terminator looking older every time?

God, T4's failed execution pissed me off.

T2 is one of my favorite movies ever, and I don't get all the hate on T3. I thought it was good, maybe not 'epic' like T2 deserved, but I don't think it was BAD.

T1... I barely remember... its too 80's for me to watch now. Haven't seen T4 yet, don't really have any interest without Arnold.

yeah, i totally went to the theater to see robert patrick.

so because i say the T1 was cool because VIOLENCE, and T2 was lame because NO VIOLENCE, you suggest i should watch frozen?

Not maybe idk, La Horde, or The Raid ..

Do you see the fault in your own logic?

If you don't see violence in T2, you obviously haven't seen it. There is no fault in my logic.

i liked the last terminator, actually. i liked it better than the abomination T2 was.
yeah yeah i know you guys loved that film but to me T1 was all about the bad guy being BAD, and in T2 it just turned into a pussy. height of the P.C. crusade;
the kid telling him "dont kill anyone" was particularly hilarious/sad/bad.
any normal teenager in the 90s would have told aaarnold "kill them all; let god sort them out"

So what you're telling us is that you're a homicidal sociopath? I can tell you that at no point when I was a teenager would I have supported killing innocent people.

T3 isn't as bad as most make it out to be. It wasn't as good as T2, no Sarah Conner (so that makes it strange), but the John Conner guy is way better than the dork in T2. I think it's worth watching. I think the story, as far as the series go, is pretty solid. It isn't cheap. The writing isn't great or anything, but it's entertaining.

You should watch the 2 existing seasons of Sarah Conner Chronicles, though. It's very good. ....I'd say better than T2 good.

but T4 never should have existed. The premise of the series is that the future isn't made yet. the real terror is the future, that thing we can't see--whatever we can't control, as much as we try. That is why the series works. The idiots in charge of crapping that piece of turd out don't even understand their own IP.

I actually didn't mind Terminator: Salvation as I've watched it more than once... on purpose! The beginning is interesting because it's an insight into someone's depiction of a post-apocalyptic world, which we've only ever seen glimpses of in previous Terminator movies. I agree though that it fell apart near the end... or rather just fell into a somewhat generic and tedious grind.

Hey, we do these things to ourselves.

shameful admittance/

I've watched FF 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer more than twice, on purpose!

/shameful admittance

Hey, just edit out all the scenes involving any of the Fantastic Four, or "Victor Doom," and it's pretty solid.

You and I should host an annual FF2 and Howard the Duck-a-thon.

NO one else would come!

I actually heard an interesting tidbit about how Robert Patrick wasn't supposed to be the bad guy in Terminator 2. It was some music artist that I've never listened to, so I can't remember his name. I think the person told me that the other guy broke his leg, and they ended up getting Patrick instead.

I've watched FF 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer more than twice, on purpose!

I don't hate that movie, but I don't consider it particularly good either. I'd probably give it a 6/10. The worst stuff is probably all the groan-worthy, cheesy scenes involving Reed Richards and/or Sue Storm/Richards. Oh, and Galactus, the giant space fart... that was lame. The Silver Surfer is a pretty cool character, so he gives it bonus points.

yeah, I never liked the FF anyway, always thought they were dorky and stupid--so those films kinda captured that--but it was so much cheese. Doom was god awful.

...then. the Galactus cloud. I mean...I get that the giant purple guy with the towers on his head would look very strange to the general audience, but come on! a cloud?

I was actually surprised they were going into the cosmic stuff when that movie came out, because it was so beyond the scale of the super hero movies at that time. I just knew it would leave a sting in the audience. Surfer was done really well, though. The Galactus cloud...no damn sense.

Now, with 2 Thor flicks, the plot of the 1st Avengers, and GoTG, I think audiences are more primed for that kind of weirdness. I wish they (real Marvel studio) retained Galactus and SS (character rights)--just ain't right seeing Thanos not have to deal with those two.

Yup. Second worse comic book movie adaptation ever.

Hmm... I feel like we're in a guessing game now for what's the worst. Catwoman? Ghost Rider: Spirits of Vengeance? Elektra? Green Lantern? (Really not as bad as everyone says, but still not good.)

EDIT:

Wait... wasn't Parallax also a giant yellow(!!) space fart in Green Lantern? Parallax definitely doesn't look like that... more like an alien from Aliens. Another interesting thing that I read about the other day... apparently, the aliens aren't really called Xenomorphs. That's just what the one dude referred to them as, but it isn't their actual name.
