The only thing that *might* have prevented this would be a complete ban on semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines. Not just for the citizenry, but for military, ex-military, police and private security.with the limited knowledge of this case, assuming the gun was legally purchased with a background check. What law do you propose that would allow someone that can legally buy a gun, that would also stop something like this from happening?

If you want to identify with the natives a bemoan the existence of the American nation then you are free to have such personal problems. But it's terrorists associating with the Middle East and groups such as ISIS that I care about. They are the ones actively killing Americans. And that extremism does not originate from our soil.

Why wouldn't we pray for them? That's ridiculous, they are still americans whether they drink, gamble, watch porn or whatever. A lot of our fellow americans are dead and had families, whether we agree/disagree with how they lived life doesn't matter. Senate Republicans rejected a bill that aims to stop suspected terrorists from legally buying guns, on Thursday. The vote came a day after at least 14 people were killed during the San Bernardino massacre in California by two suspects, including a woman said to have pledged allegiance to ISIS.
Forty-five senators voted for the bill and 54 voted against it. One Democrat, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, and one Republican, Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois, crossed party lines.
