Frame should've been stainless, and the body aluminum.

For all of the off-road, superior Mars-rover hype, they should have just gone to Moab & hired experts to beat out a few iterations in the desert.

Again, I don't really see how they are going to fix the core issues without a production line change. The Delorean even has aftermarket stainless-steel frames that support an Ecoboost, Coyote, or LS3 swap:

There is a reason it is called stainless steel not stainfree steel....JHC...

Corrosion resistance

Although stainless steel does rust, this only affects the outer few layers of atoms, its chromium content shielding deeper layers from oxidation.

The addition of nitrogen also improves resistance to pitting corrosion and increases mechanical strength. Thus, there are numerous grades of stainless steel with varying chromium and molybdenum contents to suit the environment the alloy must endure.

Tesla is going to shit. The CT is a massive failure - for everyone but some small-balled bros. Tesla turned out to be a hype stock and Elon the coddled member of a board consisting of good friends and family all riding the gravy train to rich town. He built a cult of assholes, and revealed himself to be a giant piece of shit on the level of Trump.

They can't deliver semis either btw, article came out on that today. The company is a shit show and it makes sense, because Elon runs it, and we see who Elon is plain as day via Twitter. He made Tesla investors eat Solar City to save himself and his family too. Con man and snakeoil salesman that buys his way into things, takes the credit, and then promises vaporware based upon a media created personality that people eat up because we all love a good Phony Stark.

Until they get rid of Elon and that nepotist board, Tesla is fucked. If someone else takes over, well, Tesla has some hope. In the meantime the CT is the Incel Camino Wankpanzer. Couldn't have happened to a shittier CEO though. I hope that guy ends up in a rubber room where he belongs.

I stand by my call in April 2024 that the CT was going to be a shit show of a failure and Tesla was going to go to shit (in reality, but not necessarily as a meme stock) - a bunch of folks were telling me I was just being emotional only, or that I wasn't a car guy, etc, etc...when everything I said was backed by analysis. But that was not good enough

@bbhaag how do you feel about this non-car guy's prediction now? ))

TBH, as long as the passenger compartment is intact, the rest doesn’t matter. If I can walk away, I’m totally fine with my vehicles dying for my sins.

My 2012 Odyssey was T-boned by a Accord and it didn't sustain as much damage. Mind you I have no idea how bad the CT accident was.

A fair point, though i will say when it comes to crash safety, energy absorption and dissipation are very important aspects that cannot be ignored.

Yes cast aluminum has a good specific strength. But it doesn't absorb and dissipate a whole lot of energy.

The Cybertruck received a 5 star safety rating from NHTSA. Despite the pictures you see on the internet of crashed CT's it is not the death machine that some claim.
