Tesla's bankruptcy would be a nice down payment on the interest owed. The rest of the interest and principal can come later.

garbage looking death traps
Elon ordered a rolling fortress be created for some imaginary society collapse. Turns out you're more likely to die being trapped in your vehicle than by failing to forcibly keep people out. Pretty horrific, and really goes to show how safety standards have some glaring holes in them.

Like, in the most likely case of your vehicle being in some damage scenario, it's you going to be trying to get out, and having doors that open and windows that can break is a good thing.

Welp, we have our first CT in the neighborhood, a red wrap. The house it's parked at is one we refer to as the auto shop because it is freaking huge with a freaking huge multi-car, dual RV garage and the architectural grace of an auto body shop.

You should send it a bottle of hot vodka via air delivery, as a welcome gift of course.

While talking about shitty trucks saw my first Fisker Ocean a couple days ago. Something I never expected to see here in Wv and on a back road in Wv at that.

having doors that open and windows that can break is a good thing.

From a first-responder standpoint...no visible door handles, "Armor Glass" windows, etc.

Inside, there are emergency release handdes...IF you know how they work & where they are, as they are hidden by a flap inside the door storage area. In an emergency situations, that would be tough, especially if you're a passenger who doesn't know that information who is in a panic or hurt or the car is sinking or the truck is on fire:

Tesla to recall over 46,000 Cybertrucks over exterior panel issue:

Looks like a fleet recall, not just a batch! Interesting that they call the exterior steel piece a "cosmetic applique":

Description of the Defect: The Cybertruck is equipped with a cosmetic applique along the exterior of the vehicle, known as the cant rail, which is an assembly comprised of an electrocoated steel stamping joined to a stainless steel panel with structural adhesive. The cant rail assembly is affixed to the vehicle with fasteners. On affected vehicles, the cant rail stainless steel panel may delaminate at the adhesive joint, which may cause the panel to separate from the vehicle.

Description of the Safety Risk: If the cant rail stainless steel panel separates from the vehicle while in drive, it could create a road hazard for following motorists and increase their risk of injury or a collision.

Identification of Any Warning that can Occur: A delaminated cant rail panel may create a detectable noise inside the cabin. Separately, the customer may observe the cant rail panel coming loose or separating from the vehicle.

Yeah, that's bullshit design that has killed and will kill more people. In an emergency, people don't think straight, and realistically, no consumer is going to be training enough to be able to find some random panel or flap to magic open door.

It almost sounds like they should have explosive hinges that break when it hits certain temp.

Just from a safety standpoint on this item alone I don't think they should be allowed to sell the vehicle as presently designed.

My condolences. Every time I am driving around I see one of the damn things. At least the wrapped ones are more palatable.

Buying a CT is like having an old hoopty. You get the daily excitement of wondering if you'll make it to your destination, except you likely can't wrench on it roadside if something breaks, and it costs ~$99k more :^D

I think my 2006 Accord with new tires could do this lol

At this point:

1. I think the truck has reached permanent meme status between the polarizing design & the recent politics

2. I don't have any faith that Tesla will fix the issues or even wants to. There's too much financial investment in the Giga Press & factory and not enough sales to justify a line overhaul. Aluminum-cast frame, glued-on stainless cladding, can't handle any dirt or snow, etc.

As far as your Accord goes...Kei truck shootout lol:

Those mini trucks are actually pretty cool and have basically as much bed space if more than full size trucks. Wish they actually made them here. You can import them but it's a lot of trouble and you end up paying it's value in fees, taxes etc throughout the process.
