So what happens if you get in a car accident & can't get out because of the strong body & window design? This has been a problem on their other designs...on the Model S, for example, the doors sit flush with the car & are motorized for popping out. This guy got in an accident, got knocked out, and ended up dying in a really horrible way because no one could open the doors to get him out: (which is why I carry a glass-break/seatbelt-cutter emergency tool these days!)

I am not a fan of the door handle weirdness either. Same with new electric Mustang.

I guess I am an old fuddy-duddy, but I think this should have been a second model, with the main model having the same mechanics with a more conventional design. Looks like an F-117 Nighthawk to me. I kind of like it, but I think it will appeal to up-scale yuppies more than real truck users. Can you imagine pulling up to the job site with a load of lumber in that thing?

I haven’t had time to watch the unveiling video yet but based on the pictures and specs posted in this thread, I LOVE IT! I think it looks awesome. I’m going to replace my Tundra truck with the Cybertruck.

I saw a plug in the back for the ATV, pretty sure I could run my Instant Pot off of that...

i think it looks about as ugly as a countach did in the 80s. we are just too old to appreciate how f* amazing this must look to a 12yo child.

The Countach was a beast! But yeah, extremes definitely appeal to kids. I'm going to ask my nephews what they think, if it's a winner or a bust...

My only real compliant with the new Mustang is that they should have called it the Stallion. Universally, pretty much everyone hates the name. "Mustang Mach E" just does not roll off the tongue, nor is it a Mustang in the traditional sense of the word (RWD gas coupe vs. AWD electric SUV). Even people who aren't car people have been talking to me about it, because they're like "well if it's an SUV, and it's electric, and has an AWD option, how is it a Mustang?"

So they kind of missed the mark both on calling it a Mustang, having it have a long, weird name, and not calling it something cooler & more unique like "The 2021 Ford Stallion", because then you have a nice, clear name that people can latch onto & that extends out the Mustang brand..."oh yeah, have you seen the new Ford Stallion SUV? It's a 300-mile electric car that goes 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds & fits your whole family & all of your friends!" Waaaay better marketing approach imo!

I'm not an overly huge fan of the Mach E aesthetic design, it's not terrible, but there are some really nice-looking SUV's on the road today, and I think they could have made it look way cooler than they did. However, aside from the name & the design, I think it's a really amazing car. They did a fantastic job with the GUI, and I think the biggest thing it lacks is Autopilot, which for me would be a dealbreaker, but nonetheless, pretty good progress on the electric front!

No, because how do you access the sides of the truck? There's angles in the way! At least with the first-gen Ridgeline, you could still get over the angled-side weirdness, but it looks like it'd be way more of a chore. I wonder if it will have an active side-step for the bed or something.

tbh it seems more practical to buy a minivan with fold-down rear seats & slide-forward middle seats...

OK, so dropping the aesthetics-bashing...the specs are actually pretty awesome:

It's interesting looking...

It's um, ugly-ish. And it's larger than a Raptor? I'd like to try one, but I don't think I'd do well with it. I had an '89 F-150 and had problems with a lot of the drive thrus and small parking lots in my area. What's with the horrible font and CYBRTRUKK on the web site? lol

Probably the more I see it, the less ugly it'll become. I think 0-60 being the same as my 2 seater super ass light turbo roaster is pretty damn impressive.

This thing is a roller coaster of emotions. The design is probably more about reducing drag than letting it be used as a truck. Maybe Silicon Valley thinks people only use trucks to move ATV's around?

Anyways, for the price, it makes me questions buying a 3 or Y. This goes further, is faster and has a lot more to it than either of those cars. However, most people will have their chargers in the garage and I doubt this thing fits. Not sure how I would overcome that besides adding a charger outside somehow. The tri-motor version won't be out until the end of '22 and we all know it will be delayed for any version. So maybe we will see something in 2-3 years. Will that be enough time for Ford and Chevy to build something close enough to satisfy most truck buyers? Then again, this will probably be popular among those that see a MB G Wagon as a mall cruiser and not something to take off road.

Yeah but a Raptor isn't exactly your typical f-150. Not really a fair comparison for either truck. The Raptor will destroy that Tesla off road and the Raptor's suspension setup lowers it's tow rating.

I dunno, I'm curious to see what Tesla has to offer with that crazy suspension setup they showed off. If it's made for Mars, maybe it'll take on the Raptor!

this is going to be awesome overlanding and camping vehicle. You can sleep with full climate control and power fridges. I think it can replace my Tundra truck and my Landcruiser SUV.

The funky angled styling and stainless steel panels kinda reminds of a cross of a DeLorean and a Pontiac Aztek. Does anyone else see that?
Yep. Design is going to grow on people. I can see Europeans and Asians loving this design. Honestly, seeing this vehicle makes me excited about the future. I think it’s badass.

All the people complaining about design. How many people drive an " suv " today versus a sedan twenty years ago? People will believe good design is whatever marketing tells them it is.

Am European and think it looks hideous, plus it's not going to fit in any European car parks or even streets.

You could sleep with climate control and a fridge. Then you'll need to get it towed to the nearest charger.
I like EVs but I honestly wouldn't want to take one out into the wilderness and use anything that draws power from the batteries. In fact I wouldn't be that comfortable taking one into the wilderness even without using any excess power, it's not like you can take a couple of jerry cans full of electricity with you.

They stole my design from when I was in the third grade! I'll hold judgement until I see what it looks like after the feds finish with it.
