lol all i know is that anything with less than 8 foot has been a nonstarter for most family and friends of mine who get trucks since they want to be able to haul 8 foot wood plus as many bales, bags of seed or feed, etc as possible.
i never needed the bed length when i had a truck though, drove a ranger for a few years till iwrecked itturned it into an abstract sculpture
An 8' bed is fine...with a standard cab, MAYBE with the SuperCab, but a SuperCrew cab and 8' bed is gonna be long. I have a SuperCrew F150 with a 6 1/2' bed (157" wheelbase) and it can be a PITA to park in tight parking lots. (Sure rides fckn smooth though)
