Compared to bare stainless, they'd actually make the car hotter. PVs absorb most solar radiation and convert ~25% to electricity, but the rest heats the material. Non-polished stainless reflects about 65% of solar radiation, polished stainless reflects about 93%.

I thought this might be a joke, but I think it's the actual interior. This is absolutely terrible. The dash is horrible.

I mean it's easy to wipe the blood and brain tissue off after the "Full self driving™" system drives you into a bridge support!
That's something surely?

Edit: I thought that it was settled that it was going to be 2 seats up front?

But that interior is the good looking part of the car.

The best thing is that it looks like 3 seat cushions with 2 seat backs. Odd angle I guess.

I am sort of amazed how Tesla still cannot manage to build a comfortable interior after all these years.

See, to me, I think that actually looks awesome! Love the minimalism!

It's minimalism for the sake of it, form well over function - the lack of virtually anything tactile for often used functions/features is actually a safety issue.

You should check out a Model Y or 3 after an hour or so in the sun (no experience with X/S, probably the same). You could cook an egg on that glass roof easy. Miserable thing in the summer sitting in their feeling the heat radiate off it.

I have a few buddies with 3's & Y's, their trick is to preheat the car with A/C before they go out to it. I've seen some people do opaque wraps on the top glass too. I'd imagine the giant glass roof is not too much fun in places like Arizona lol.

Like I said above, the interior looks a helluva lot better than the exterior. How do you preheat the car with A/C? Magic trick?

Also it's not minimalism for the sake of form, it's minimalism for the sake of lowering production costs.

Wow I'm 100% the opposite, I LOVE how comfortable their seats are!

Yeah, neither me or my husband are fans. My older BMW 330e was a lot comfier than his Model 3 and he preferred to take it on trips.

We rented Model 3 from Hertz in Maui a few months ago and again came to the same conclusion.

I agree with this. I don't like having to take my eyes off the road to see the screen & I don't like the little steering wheel control nonsense. Ford did a fabulous job on their current line of steering wheels:

* The middle controls on the left & right are thumb-accessible
* Each button is dedicated to a control group
* You can slide your hand lower to the second set of controls on each side

The groupings are logical:

* Left side has audio controls, so you can skip tracks, quickly mute, or nudge the volume up or down. Like a Tivo remote, each button is dedicated & has a unique location & shape, making it very easy to operate mindlessly & in the dark
* The bottom left side is for cruise control
* The center console also has physical buttons that you don't have to look at, all of which are dedicated to their functions, so you can put your hand on the layout & learn them by heart without looking

It's funny because I DON'T like the minimalism in the Model 3, but I DO like how it looks in the Cybertruck! I think partly because of how open the interior feels

Pre...cool? What's the term for that? LOL

And yes, I agree. Tesla has made a LOT of stupid design decisions for the sake of manufacturing & support ease, as well as cost-reduction. The stupid handles that are flush with the sides get frozen into place every winter on my buddy's Model 3. He has to carry heat de-icer spray to get into his car lol. Sometimes he has to spray it on the frameless windows to pry the doors open too lol.

His Model 3 ran a software update a few years back & got a BSOD. We couldn't even move it hardly in his driveway lol. The tow truck guy said he LOVED Teslas because they broke so often, and one of the biggest issues was that the screen cable because disconnected, blanked out the central touchscreen, and rendered the car essentially useless lol.

Tesla can sue you for $50,000 if you resell an early-VIN Cybertruck without their permission:

hahahaha
Unless they are leasing it to you I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work in the UK.

Not that there are going to be enough sold over here for that to be a problem though!

could this be the car where any woman with any self-respect is like that guy is unfuckable?

TBF I would find this less compensatory than your run of the mill lifted mall crawler F150 with mud tires and all kinds of other shit all over it driven by very average yet slightly overweight upper middle class office drones.

agreed. I think a cybertruck could equal that though if they put truck nuts on it. but that's the only time.

there are a few marketing photos where the schmuck truck kinda sorta looks good.

but everything just unfiltered real life shots or video, it looks fugly as fuck, and in video of it moving, kinda like a wanna be futuristic angular flinstones vehicle.

Yeah the hub cap thing that happens after it's been driven for a bit suggests that it was designed by people who have never owned a car before!
