Purple wrap looks pretty good! Like something out of a video game:

Locking differentials are for deep, loose sand, not rocky trails. Any modern traction control should have prevented the wheel slip.

Locking diff would be so easy on an EV too, it's all software, just have both motors send power to both wheels, if one senses that it's free spinning, stop since it's doing nothing, but keep sending power to the wheel with the most resistance as it's the one doing more work.

I saw one of these on the street over the weekend. It was only for about 10 to 15 seconds because he turned into the same parking lot as me. He went left to El Pollo Loco and I went right to pick up my burritos. They are what you think they are, if you like them you will think they are cool. To me it just looked weird. Did not get close enough to check out any details.

The burritos on the other hand were excellent. It is one of those places where everyone speaks Spanish, they have sweet breads and everyone pays in cash. When I get to the register they look at me like, are you sure you are in the right place white boy?

I know they're trying to be like Top Gear but I did watch Throttle House's mini road trip with the CT that was posted recently. They make some good points, and test some of the 'Tesla' stuff first hand.

Still hate it though

Apparently the specially designed aerodynamic hubcaps of the cybertruck seriously wear out the tires sidewall really fast. Yes these people are great at designing cars. Holy fuck what a total fail this whole endeavor is fundamentally. They're literally having to redesign the hubcap.

The main reason Tesla is so overvalued and had success is because they were early to market and Elon was considered a charming absolutely brilliant engineering marvel, except it turns out most of what he says is nonsense and snake oil and bullshit.

My cousin has lots of Tesla stock and I said you know the emperor has no clothes now so the stock may keep getting propped up for a bit by institutional investors but as long as that guy is CEO, It's going to come back down to reality it's way overpriced by any metric.

He's like I'm not worried, All those self-driving robo taxis are coming soon. Tesla will be fine.

They can't even fucking design hubcaps LOL

I don't think it's that they can't design hubcaps, but that no one wants to upset Elmo.

Just to bring a vehicle to the US market is a herculean effort and proves a certain degree of engineering competence IMO. Tesla couldn't and wouldn't exist otherwise.

I think the argument is more Tesla made it despite Elmo. He managed the cashflow lying and cheating. He's good at that. Once he decided to dabble in car design is when we get CT.

That's exactly my point. Tesla goes as Elon goes and Elon is getting in the way of Tesla at this point. So until then, Tesla is going to be making serious mistakes and calculations because the head of the company acts like an engineer, though he has zero qualifications to be one, and has been shown to be insane and living in an alternate reality and a pathological liar - and people have now finally seen through his constant bullshit.

if Elon gets pushed out, I will revise my statement. As long as Elmo is on top, it's valid.

Looks like in a few CT will overtake the whole market. Tesla even changed its name in China so it'll pass as a non-truck.

CT - cyberbeast version. 2.6s 0-60. This is getting insane.

So as all the positive videos about the Cybertruck are it doing non truck things (0 to 60 acceleration) is it a tacit admission that it's a bit crap at doing truck things like towing with any range, going off road, having any range in the cold and at motorway speeds, being delivered without body panels hanging off, body work corrosion from dead flies...

North Americans buy pickups as grocery getters. Don't ask me why.

That seems like a pain in the arse! I tend to use the smallest vehicle I can that works for the task. It's a lot easier to take my mini into the city than it is to take the family car in!
