At this point, I'm convinced that:

1. 99% of the time, the social media users we talk to online are AI-generated avatars emulating hormonal 14-year-old trolls (re: dead internet theory)

2. All stupid videos are carefully-calculated rage-bait-inducing clips design to boost views & sales

aka genius designs that get millions of likes lol
You can reduce this down to "People are stupid".

When they decided to drive the trucks off the flat bed trailer the drive shaft broke on the Ford making the F-150 inoperable. This did not happen on the Cybertruck.

This is where I lost interest and realized this is just another click bait youtuber video.
Yep. It's all fake, just click bait, it's all just a big conspiracy. The recalls, the Cyber truck owners posting all their problems (while still being in a cult though kind of like you), hell even Edmunds must be in on it with their broken wank tank.

I'm going back to the Elon blow up doll theory now again cuz I can't explain it otherwise.

Eh? Keep watching for the other tests. I don't see what the harm is. You don't see people destroying expensive toys everyday on purpose. This is the first video of his I have seen, I don't think it's very biased.

Every part of that video was clickbait. I don't see f-150s rolling over logs or 7-ft concrete culverts everyday either. I am failing to see how any part of this video is a valid test of any truck's durability.

Perhaps you could point out which part in the video you found was useful for everyday truck owners?

I already got the blow up doll Elon humping treatment from @MrSquished which was expected. I'm hoping you can give me a little more.

Useful? Did I say that? It's entertaining. I was impressed by the CT explosive test. The error notifications was hilarious.

Got it, so you found the video entertaining. No other comments about the testing methods used in the video?

Except we do see trucks needing to tow out other cars, which is when this happened. How do you feel about the Edmunds WankTank fail like so many other owners have shown? All click bait setups? The recalls? Click bait?

You have proven nothing except an instant cult knee jerk reaction - bah, it's click bait and meaningless. To any criticism about the CT. Anything critical of the CT to you is immediately dismissed as fake. Kinda reminds me of another cult.

His followers are the lifted truck crowd.

You can't expect to have insightful conclusions from this lowest common demoninator content.

You see the guy drop vehicles from a flat bed and expect a serious review? This is the first time I watched his video.
I was not the one who posted the video. I spend a lot of time on YouTube and instantly knew that the video posted was pure clickbait.

The marketing for the CT implies it can do these things. Is there any criticism or proof of the WankTank's issues that would sway @bbhaag ? So far he has dismissed it. I think he probably thinks even Edmunds is in on it.

Oh hey you! A bicycle guy now interested in trucks! Are you sure there isn't another reason why you dislike the Cyber truck so much?

Nope. It's entertainment.

Currently, I see it as a meme truck. It's a Tesla El Camino - a "mall rover". It seems to get stuck easily in snow, mud, sand, and water. Build quality is about on-par with other Teslas (i.e. kinda meh).

I really enjoyed the video. I hope they use the rocket launcher on it in part 2 lol.

I was shocked by a different video showing runoff from the windshield is not piped. That's like asking for mold.

What does liking bikes have to do with being able to discuss cars and trucks? I fail to see a connection.

It's fairly obvious I can't stand Musk, and all the evidence to what an absolutely shitty human being he is, is clear to see. Not to mention how much he lies about the products he is responsible for and brings to market, from FSD to the fake solar tiles he pushed to save his family's ass, to robotaxis and the android unit, etc..Literally everything he does is tainted with not insignificant amounts of bullshit.

As far as the CT goes, which is arguably the first really total Elon concept car they made, it's a shitty launch by anybody who is reasonable's standards. If it was a success, I'd be sad and you would be able to tell. But it was a shit show, and I am reveling in it. I can't believe you are defending it when there is so much data and info now to prove how shitty this launch has been. The question should really be, why do you love this truck so much you refuse to see reality about it?

Oh you again.....the guy who called me a white guy with a small dick because I posted some positive things about Car & Drivers and Hagerty's initial review of the Cybertruck.

You aren't a fucking car guy bro. You could give two shits about cars. Your only reason for being here is to shit on Tesla and Elon Musk. That is why you don't post in any other threads in this sub.

You let your personal biases interfere with your ability to remain objective. That is why you posted a Whistlindiesel video because it showed you what wanted you wanted to see. If you were a car guy you would have instantly known this guys channel is on par with MrBeast or Donut Media. It's for entertainment purposes only.

You are a fucking edgelord bro and you don't even fucking know it.

I'm ok with the recent WD video, it's for entertainment and people need to realize that. He's done this with lot of other vehicles too, some of which are impressive how much they can take a beating actually. I think the biggest thing that can be raised from it though is that perhaps a cast frame on a truck is not that great of an idea. That is a serious flaw how it snapped the back like that. I mean, yeah they abused the crap out of it before, but cracks could potentially form long term usage too, such as from hitting potholes and so on.

I'd like to see them come up with a new model CT that fixes all these issues and also issue free fixes for existing ones (at least for things that can be repaired, frame is kind of hard). The water ingress issues are bad too and that really needs to be fixed. For the price of this thing it really should be better IMO. But it's the first revision, so hopefully they do better for next one. it's always a risk to buy the 1st gen of anything.

Tesla sold more Cybertrucks in May 2024 than the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T combined, despite being a $100k+ truck
Tesla Cybertruck: 3,907
Ford F-150 Lightning & Rivian R1T (combined): 3,590

Cybertruck is the bestselling EV pickup truck & most American made full-size pickup truck.

source

For those who still have no clue, Tesla only started CT production a year ago. Take that East Saint Louis.
Only because of how many more sales the ICE F-150 std version has. People are not idiots. They don't want to be part of this nonsense social experiment. They want a cheap utilitarian pickup truck. Extending that argument, they also don't want some unibody Maverick if regular (now jumbo sized) pickups weren't insanely priced, and I don't entirely agree with that, not trying to argue in favor of bigger is always better, just calling it like I see it, but also, if I were to pay north of $30K for a pickup, it's going to have a full frame.

I don't consider an old school pickup design to be a daily driver unless you are in a trade that needs that, but if you aren't and a pickup is a 2nd/3rd/etc vehicle, it should be a pickup TRUCK, not the equivalent of a lifted camry with a bed on the back.

Cyberfuck. Let's just get over the obviously false claims of insane durability. If you want bullet/etc proof glass because you have a valid reason and can't change your lifestyle to where that is silly, then you can find that in the aftermarket.

It all comes back to how ludicrous the EV market has been, that manufacturers recognize it isn't self sustaining so they want to market upsales as much as possible, instead of what would get a larger % of the population into an EV. Range anxiety is a thing, but it's not a relevant thing compared to adoption cost for the average person. It's a luxury vehicle that is a hard sell because it doesn't really address real world needs.

That's really what it boils down to:

1. EV's are expensive
2. They don't go very far
3. They take awhile to charge up

Yes, they're great IF they fit your lifestyle, but one or more of those options needs to change to get public buying interest to change. There are good deals to be had out there (sales, leases, 400-mile batteries, 15-minute bulk-quick-charge systems, etc.) if someone is interested in that avenue, but a lot more will have to change to get mass adoption...

Call me when they have a 500-mile Cybertruck that doesn't cost $116,000 lol

If there would be a high voltage infrastructure down to street level, charging would not be a problem, there could be charging from 10-80% in under half an hour, but that's the other part needed, infrastructure
