Add fuel injection to the list and now we’re at about 1995. Seems about right — I daily drive a 2001 that first came out in 1997 and it has everything I need and want and nothing I don’t.

We've been discussing this phenomenon in other internet communities. Musk who has been caught lying a million times, including about FSD, which has killed a bunch of people - his company was caught clearly lying here about this 1/4 marketing video. Clearly lying. Their excuse is pathetic, about tires that we should give them a pass, it's like the dog ate my homework excuse. So they admit they are lying, and yet some people here still feel the need to carry the lying billionaire's water.

It's such a strange phenomenon. It's pretty much always men too. The appeal of Elon's ball sack is strong.

It seems like they are going to offer Foundation Series trucks to everyone with a pre-order before they start making any cheaper models.

I get why they’re doing it, but I think a significant portion if not the vast majority of reservations were in it for the cheap 500 mile range.

I’d love to know the conversion rate on these invites they’re sending out, I’d put money on it being low single digit % this deep into the queue.

Nice, but unnecessary. I'd pay a hundred extra for them, but I doubt I could order them as a stand alone option.

But they could have it to me as early as next month...

I agree, they are nice, but not as nice as AC. It's included with many Subarus starting at the second trim level. I think I paid $400 for it and a couple other things on my Bolt.

I didn't think any car came without AC.
It's the one thing I would happily pay a thousand bucks for.

I recently purchased a 1999 Honda Accord EX in really good condition. It is a local one owner vehicle and included was the original window sticker from 1999. It just came with what you need and nothing else all for the low price of $22K in 1999 money.

I mean just look at this list of no bs equipment you got for around $41K in todays money.

I got a 135 HP engine, a low fuel light warning, a moonroof, and a slew of other features at NO extra cost. Hot DAMN!

That engine had a decent 150HP, not bad for its time. I gave away my 2000 Accord SE back in 2017; I didn't love that car but it was very reliable and I miss the low cost of ownership.

Unlike modern Kia/Hyundai cars, looks like you even get an immobilizer.

The engine has some pep around town especially if you leave it in 3rd gear. Decent power for its time but nothing special. This was a grocery getter through and through. lol

This thing is a gem though. It even has little old lady notes in the owners manual. She did seem to be overly obsessed with anti theft measures. Was that a thing on late '90s Hondas?

In 17 years of ownership, I only ever had one repair. The oxygen sensors went out. Besides depreciation, insurance and fuel, the rest of my TCO was just standard maintenance. And post pandemic, reliable old beaters actually went up in value. It's really hard to find a reliable car for those with very low budgets these days.

Obviously I'm partial to Honda, but the styling (even of this conservative model) was way better than the anemic 133hp Toyota Camry.

I would've removed Ms. Myers home address.

I guess that makes sense. Even the glass on this is original and right by the door handles is says something like "Protected by Honda Anti-Theft". I scooped it up at a decent price as a winter beater so I can keep the miles off my Mustang in the snowy months.

Ms. Myers passed a year or two ago so no need to worry about her home address.
