Big wankfest right now. Audience is slobbering over every word. Feels like an Apple event haha.

Nice looking car. I'm not sure I like that "grill." Looks like the front of the car has a silk stocking pulled over it like a bank robber.

Kinda Elon's fault. His delivery was awful, too many pauses that required audience participation. As for the car, where is the instrument cluster? Otherwise I like the interior and I understand what he means when he says it doesn't feel cramped at all.

If you look at the car, you can tell that the trend of oversized wheels has its limits. I didn't reserve one of these cars because I figured that by the time the $35K car became available (limited availability initially) I could probably get a Model S for the same amount of money.

It appears to be on the center display. It's rather odd.

115,000 reservations made in the last 24 hours before seeing the car!

would love to hear some of the conversations at GM, Ford and Toyota tomorrow.

did anybody else notice how the crowd stopped cheering when they actually saw the car?

yeah.

I don't know if they didn't like it, or were just taking it in, or if they were expecting something that looked much different than the model s. really, with maximizing interior room and drag coefficient, I think most Teslas are going to look similar.

Intrigued by the 3 but I'm not feeling the interior photos I've seen nor the oversized wheels for what is an economy car. Will consider if I ever have a reliable way to charge it (yay apt living). Losing the tax credit will suck though and could possibly take it off the list.

Also, so disappointed by the X. I've seen a number of them now and they just look so bland. I'm betting sales in this area will be good though.

It's the test drive that hooks people.

Once I drove the S, I focused on it being my next car.

Tesla did a good job of keeping any pictures of the vehicle from being released before the official show.

I think the side lines and read of the car are quite nice and attractive. Still don't care for the nose. I'd like to see any opening there like a normal grill. Perhaps divert the air to the brakes. I'm sure having like it is helps with aero, just odd looking. Maybe it will grow on me. Almost looks like a placeholder bumper and the designers were going to get back with it to try to figure out how to make it look good but couldn't and said screw it just ship it with that!

The front end really bugs me. It's like they originally designed it with a grill but then decided to remove the grill but keep the shape. Either keep the grill or completely sculpt it out.

its basically all the same people. they lost their cult of personality.

there are plenty of other decent cars out there, but people need something to latch on to.

That's very disingenuous to say "there's plenty of other decent cars out there" in a discussion of the first mass market Electric vehicle. This isn't the launch of some stupid Camry or Mustang, it's the launch of something very important to Tesla Motors and what I'd say the rest of the world. The Chevy Bolt my guess will have an EPA range of probably 150 miles, less than the 200 miles it is currently being advertised as such. It's also going to be a more expensive vehicle than the Model 3 and not have any of the special features the Model 3 has.

Terrible interior design. One of the things I don't like about the screen in my highlander is that it's not recessed at all, so I get a lot of glare with nothing around the screen to cast a shadow over it. This thing is even worse, and huge.

Preordered one Is it 2018 yet?

Also, why do I need to see the instrument panel when it is driving for me?

I was going to pre-order, but then I remembered I have a first-year Jeep (Renegade) that is full of bugs, and that I violated my own rule of "never buy first-generation hardware", so...I'll wait for the second-year model :awe:
