One fueled by hype, the other by cocaine.
Once Elon Musk runs out of suitcases full of pure, uncut Columbian hype, his unprofitable company is going to have issues.
The company's stock has jumped since Feb. by $50. Also, given that it's debut was at $26,.. $258 (as of this post) in 4 years is pretty damn great.
And we know the logs are accurate how?
It the end, when Tesla goes belly up or its assets are sold off in 18-24 months this will all be a footnote in their history.

So how is those predictions of Tesla Motors failure working out? Still waiting?
Hmmmmm:\
At the end of the day, these forums (as well as other areas of the net) are rife with armchair experts.
And, yes, I am one of them - but, I admit when and where I am wrong.
Also, keep in mind that some folks on here have 'trouble' with gift cards for God's sake,.. I am not sure anyone was expecting anyone to actually "Call It". But, the naysayers certainly did feel they were (or were gong to be) right - and on that point, we go back up to the 1st sentence of this post,...
I think it is funny that it seems like predictions of Tesla's failure is always about 2-years in the future.
So how is those predictions of Tesla Motors failure working out? Still waiting?
Where is your Tesla car?
Its still a product that exists only due to rich hippsters.
Regardless where their stock is, that's completely irrelevant.
We have a dealer in our town, it's completely empty with one car in the showroom. I still haven't seen a soul there and it seems like they have 1 employe......in the building size of a huge warehouse.

That's how most of their "showrooms" are. One or two cars and one or two guys to answer questions and help you order. They only have one model (S) at this time, so ...
My boss owns one. She loves it. However, she does get a lot of speeding tickets with it. She said that it is so quiet and quick that it she is always speeding.
Would I own one? No. Too expensive/can't afford and can't really go long distances. For me to make it to my college football games in Gainesville that I go to a few times a year I would have to rent a car or have to charge it on my way there. Makes my 3 hour trip turn into a 4 hour trip each way.
If I had two cars at my disposal I would def consider it over other cars in the price range.

Again, how many Anandtech members own Teslas? If you think the product is so great, why aren't you be willing to be a Ginnie pig?
What is it that you think makes them so great?
I know a lot of people believe in magic etc, but the truth is there is no easy answer to ENERGY question.
History is a good indicator of the future. Electric cars have come and gone for over a century and a half.
Is that your argument/answer here? "They are the way they are".
There is a REASON
The reason is, company has very little profits and can only afford to hire 1/2 people and only have 1/2 cars in the show room.
Which begs the question. Why in the world would they have a 30-50k sq ft building and a parking lot that holds 100s of cars (both are completely EMPTY)???
I don't ever see myself owning one.
Give it to me for free, I'm selling it.
Electric cars simply limit your freedom. You are limited and the second anything is "unplanned" or out of ordinary happens.....you are screwed.
It still blows my mind that people buy NIssan Leaf too. Thing has about 45k of BTUs (that's less than 1/2 the energy of a gallon of gas). Second you hit traffic or go beyond 15-20 mile range.....good luck getting back.
Just silly.
But I say, more power to Nissan and TEsla for selling these things.

It was supposed to be 200 HP, but ended up being 130 HP (@ a 2700-pound curb weight) due to a 150 HP engine & catalytic converter requirements in the U.S., so performance is pretty crummy:
