It's because we've downgraded our standards as a society. If you tell people that they should fo something about their weight you get called an a-hole.
This is why children as young as ten are developing type 2 diabities. This is why the US military had to let go 10% of all new recruits because they were obese. In just 5 years it's estimated that 50% of new recruits are gping to be ineligible for the military due to weight issues. If you don't believe me, look it up on CNN.
It's going to be interesting to see what happenens to America in 50 years.
I live in a high rise apartment, haven't played a video game in over a week, and I'm currently dating a pharmacist and a lawyer, both of whom have tremendous thigh gaps. I just care enough about America to take the time and fight this fat acceptance nonsense.
About 2 years ago, to go along with our normal increase in insurance premiums, talking points were distributed that the increasing trend in obesity related payouts (replacement hips, knee surgeries, cardiac, blood pressure) in younger demographics were driving up costs.
They listed fat young people as the justification for jacking up our premiums.

Like I said earlier in the thread, some companies are now giving discounted insurance rates based on employees BMI, cholesterol, fruit\veg intake, etc. Then they outfit them with a fitbit and monitor their activity level for further discounts. That's the future right there.
