Texas does have amazing barbecue. New York has much better...well...basically every other kind of food imaginable.
Mexican?
I've had some really fantastic Mexican food in NYC, and I lived about 15 miles from the Mexican border for the better part of a decade. I'm not sure if it's better in NYC but there are plenty of great ones.
But seriously the larger point was that NYC is arguably the best food city in America and one of the top food cities in the world. Texas may have many charms but it's not going to win on that one.
Is there other food besides mexican and bbq?
Oh god so much, and so much of it is absolutely delicious. You can even mix and match! I had some duck and goat cheese enchiladas the other day that were fabulous.
Somewhere along the way you forgot to give Texas credit for great burgers too.
I think if you want to eat for two for under $30 Texas wins in a landslide. I have no doubt connoisseur dining in NY is among the best in the world. Keep your duck and goat cheese enchiladas and I'll keep my sonora enchiladas.

The New Yorkers that come to Texas will be blessed with jobs. Jobs for all in Texas. Had the GoP had it's way, every state could have been like Texas.
The ones who will want to take this offer are exactly the ones we want to get rid of. Win/win for all involved.
Pros
1) I get to keep guns
2) Move to a warmer climate
3) Best BBQ in the country at every corner of every city
Cons
1) You live closer to the Bush family
2) You will gain weight (see #3 of pros)
Thats all I got
#3 is a lie.
but really....who the fuck would make such a colossal downgrade and move to Texas? ewwww.
