The Texas law makes providers and patients civilly liable.Just so I understand, the woman arrested was *not* the one who was pregnant, but somehow facilitated/induced the abortion, correct? My understanding is that the Texas law doesn’t go after the mother—it makes it impossible to get an abortion because all of the providers are now criminally liable.
Sorry to burst your bubble but the average Americans pay more attention to reality tv than actual reality.A woman jailed for choosing to have an abortion? Should this best be her decision considering it is her body, or the decision of mob rule? And who would know what is best for this woman, the woman herself or people that don't even know her or know of her situation?
While it may appear that America has gone bat-shet extremist far right, far religious right, I myself don't think that is the case. I will bet that come the midterms, women across America will take their revenge at the polls.
Banning books, banning abortion, banning gays and transgenders, I doubt this is what America wants and believe me... people are paying attention. We can debate abortion and the bible all we want, but dictating what a woman can and can not do with her own body? That's entirely different.

I have an aversion to "reality TV." Didn't take long before that kind of thing started sprouting on TV and I have stayed away from it. Strikes me as rabbit holes every time. I don't watch those crime programs either. No sitcoms (I have DVDs of Simpsons and Seinfeld, but haven't watch so much as 1/2 of them, suppose I should, that's higher level stuff). When Betty White died recently, I went, who's that? Seriously, she meant nothing to me. Mostly dislike Disney, with rare exceptions, if I even bother to check that stuff out.
