I'm really trying not to be okay with this .... not having much luck.

Stomping on that roach in your kitchen this morning DOES NOT count!

I don't know what kind of fucking pig sty you live in...but we've never had roaches in any part of our house. Sorry your standards are so low.

*(first of all that was a joke Mr Kranky-pants)

Second, I briefly lived in a fancy/pricy apartment in downtown Greenwich CT of all places that had a serious roach problem.

I found those bastards in my DESK DRAWER in my bedroom one time apparently EATING MY STASH!

Moved shortly afterwards for obvious reasons.

German cockroaches are really hard to get rid of. I remember the second house I lived (Arlington, Va) in had an infestation. I think it took a couple years to finally eliminate them. It's mostly an east thing. I have literally not seen a cockroach, since I moved out west. When I went to tech school in Atlanta, I rented almost the whole top floor of an old antebellum house in downtown, those suckers were the size of your thumb and flew across the room.

And Texas AG Daffy Duck goes a step further... threatening to take legal action against Texas cities that are keeping a mask mandate in place. One ponders at what point does the AG and Gov's actions constitute first-degree mass murder.

I'd be curious to see them try. After all, the state isn't banning the wearing of masks, it's just saying that there is no longer a state-wide requirement to do so.
A city making a mask requirement within its borders is not in conflict.

Also, what happened to small government?

I know Kemp backed down against ATL. I have my doubts a governor's EO can supercede a city's right to create ordinances.

Our stupid state government has sued Travis county now over the mask requirement.

It's a good thing there's nothing more pressing going on in Texas that needs to be dealt with.

If the elected statewide officials ever did something other than squabble over how Austin and its surroundings are run as culture war sport for their base I'd be shocked.

I guess misery loves company becuase WI is just about as effed up as Texas when it comes down to all the intra-state fighting. God we each have some incredibly stupid elected officials (and citizens!)

Intent......

CDC releases highly anticipated guidance for people fully vaccinated against Covid-19

The CDC says fully vaccinated people can:

Visit other vaccinated people indoors without masks or physical distancing

Visit indoors with unvaccinated people from a single household without masks or physical distancing, if the unvaccinated people are at low risk for severe disease.

Skip quarantine and testing if exposed to someone who has Covid-19 but are asymptomatic, but should monitor for symptoms for 14 days

Wear a mask and keep good physical distance around the unvaccinated who are at increased risk.

Reality.....

If I were that age I’d be there. Close to zero risk of them getting complications from COVID. I would just avoid family for two or three weeks after going.

Moved to Orlando when I joined the Navy. The first time I opened my dresser drawer at A school, there was the biggest fucking roach I'd ever seen. They were constantly spraying insecticide everywhere to keep those things under control.

And conveniently left Round Rock out of the suit. Gee, I wonder why...

How Paxtard is still the AG when he's sitting on, and putting off moving forward to trial for, a 6yo+ indictment for felony securities fraud is beyond me. I mean, fuck, this asshole was caught on CCTV stealing a friggin' $1k fountain pen.

I hope the FBI comes down hard on his ass and throws the book at him. Fuck his wife as well

Our piece of shit governor said cities can't enforce any mask mandate. He did the same shit last May and by June Texas was the world COVID epicenter and he had to go back on that.

I won't be surprised at all when rescinding the mask mandate results in virtually no change to cases/deaths

Cause people knows he is a moron and keeps the masks on anyway? You could hope right?
But to be fair, your statement has a high probability of being technically correct .. cases divided by deaths should be a relatively stable factor.

By the way

Havent you had enough of TV personalities running for office for a decade or two?
What was it I read ... The Rock Johnson is considering running for president?
I mean.
What the f.
Sometimes you need to fight fire with fire. We already know people treat elections as popularity contests. If it helps us get the wins and they actually install advisors and cabinets that know wtf they are doing then no harm done.
