Burgled sounds like something you do to somebody's naughty parts.
Like that famous fast-food villain, The Ham-Buggarer.

Or...
That last sentence is totally subjective, too. Only the home owner can say if he had enough evidence. What more do you need besides, "Open up. this is the police, we have a warrant."
Either way, who the hell just grabs a gun and starts blasting??
I'm a gun owner. I'm a home owner. If I hear my door open, yes I am going to go grab my gun. But I am going to say something at least...Confront who ever is in my home. I'm not going to spray and pray. That's idiotic.
If I'm in that situation I'd do the same thing, does anyone really think you should start asking questions to someone who just broke down your front door?, I would logically assume that the person (s) were armed and willing to kill me in a heartbeat, Yea it sucks that someone is dead but the warrant was for pot possession, they weren't after Charles Manson for Christ's sake..

How is this guy not filled with holes? :whiste:
PS: Seriously stop entering people's home...just STOP.
That is the point though. The cops got a no knock warrant and executed it poorly. The home owner was not at fault. Someone kicked his door in and stormed in his house. Sounds a lot similar to a home invasion. I'd have shot first and asked questions afterwards as well. And why was Sheriff John Rambo not wearing gear to protect against such a valid response?
That is simply the risk LEOs take with no knock warrants. Would there be any difference in the story and people's reaction if the guy didn't have weed plants in his house? Or if they entered the wrong house?

The sad part is often when these things happen they actually do get the wrong house sometimes, such as the time they used a chainsaw to cut through someone's door and it turned out to be a mother with her child.

This is just sickening, and happens too often. There is absolutely no reason for these kinds of raid for non dangerous crime. The war on drug and war on piracy are way too ridiculous.
Even worse is when they get the wrong home and kill the pets because they legally can.
