TF2 Servers...

Hi all. Starting playing TF2 recently and have been on various servers. I'm curious if you play on a "regular" server, or do you surf around? What are the good ones vs. bad ones?

I generally just look for one with low ping on a map I like that is 24 players and no mods.

no mods, fast respawn, > 24 people, low ping. fairly easy to find.

I usually play on TheVille.org's servers... people on there are actually skilled and used teamwork, plus it's has an array of admins to make sure no shenanigans happens on the servers. They also have a collaborative ranking system based on all of their servers.

Yeah the Ville servers are pretty decent, though a number of them are 24/7 of one map, which is kind of annoying.

Sometimes I just use Steam Friends to figure out where other ATers are playing and join them.

When i get a chance to play i do this usually.

I have a set of 3 or 4 servers I normally go to. They all have HLStats so you can keep of your long term progress. The XFactorGaming servers are pretty decent. They always have 30+ people, low ping, and decent competition depending on the time of day

I just use Friends to where other people are playing and join one that looks good. If I don't find something there I pick a server with low ping, a map I like and no mods.

I only play on 1 server. It's that one or I go do something else. It's got fast spawn, 30 players and new maps. Other servers just don't feel "right". And 20 second respawn time is murder.

I usually just connect to whatever server my friends or the AT group are in.

I play on any servers at or below 100 ping with more or less than 24 players, often (but not exclusively) with fast or instant respawn, and on any maps other than CP or CTF Well which I hate with a burning passion.

I only play Doorman Is God servers on the east coast. ~20 ping for me. Always full of GOOD TEAM PLAYING people.

I play on the Toronto Northern Resistance servers. They have 4 servers so there's usually a spot on at least one of them.

I like the Up in Smoke custom map servers, and have also been spending a lot of time on any server hosting Mario Kart, which owns.

Holy crap, Up in Smoke has TF2 servers? I only ever play on their CS servers. Thanks for the heads up!
