A place with nearly no rules where you can pretty much say what you want/mean without the consequence of being banned. Sounds awful

Yes, because a forum that is full of middle aged men acting like 14 year old fools is so interesting

There are far fewer rules over there that's for sure. But that's also what makes it not interesting for me. I prefer a community that is well regulated, at least to some degree. That way we can have actual conversations about real topics. Otherwise it's just a 3 year old's sandbox. As much as like to goof off and troll here it's still regulated enough that we can have threads about stuff when we want to, which to me is important.

I'll agree with this.

All accounts were wiped as of June 13, so if you signed up before then, it wasn't personal.

ah, so that means all record of my association with TFNN is gone?

excellent...my presidential hopes are still alive!

Yep.

Part of the problem we were having was the old forum software which did nothing to block spammers. Consequently the vast majority of members weren't. That's when Evadman got wiped IIRC, along with anyone else who hadn't participated in many many months. Having no ability to sort out bots from people we elected to go with a system which required new members contact Wally or other Triad to be manually approved. Obviously few wanted to bother with that. The upside is that we cut out bots and spammers, but limited growth. That was bad.

Then we had The Great Upgrade which required everyone to re-register but that allows people to automatically sign up. The results can be amusing.

BTW, the Triad has even gimped itself at times, so being "tanked" isn't something most people take seriously. It eventually ends like a good hazing.

Personally I'd like to see more members so we could have serious discussions, but then we'd have angst and drama. With a few notable exceptions people can call anyone anything and not be taken seriously, which is a plus.

I would too, unfortunately we seem to be attracting some pimple farmers from here that want to shed their identities so as to troll.

I find it a little odd that if a mod posts on these forums, he's not obligated to represent himself as a mod. However, if you question his opinion as a regular poster, you're suddenly told that you can't question the actions of a mod. Yet, they claim to post under the capacity of a regular member, but are still unapproachable...odd.

"DrPizza, that's the stupidest reply I've ever seen."
"DrPizza, you, as a moderator here, should know better than to have a stupid reply like that."

One of these is actionable, the other isn't. You won't find ANY examples of the first example getting an infraction or even a warning for a mod callout.

Is it really that hard to figure the rule out?

A little OT, but with a handle like DrPizza, shouldn't you be required to make at least a weekly delivery?

Sausage and onion please?
