I echo your sentiments. I dunno, it's been on for something to the tune of 10 seasons already or maybe more. I'm not entirely sure it's really that popular anymore, but news and media outlets still seem to think it is. I haven't watched it even in passing since maybe the 4th season.

It's not that bad of a show. I skip the auditions, but it's fun to hear people's renditions of certain songs. The good people. I love cover mixes. I have a bunch of iTunes downloads of American Idol songs. I prefer the cover versions in many cases.

Simon may be a douche, but this is entertainment.

im the opposite the city auditions was the most entertaiing part. when the show moves to LA is when i loose interest and find something else.

Indeed. Big Brother got REAL lame in the US after a couple seasons. They started intentionally casting for drama. Methinks it's scripted.

AGT is about the only reality show worth shit these days. I would say Amazing Race too, but I haven't watched it in a few years now. Everything else is especially cast for pouring out as much drama as possible.

I watched the first part of the first season when most of the contestants sang poorly. That was good entertainment. I lost interest when I discovered the intent of the show was to find people who could actually sing. It then turned into more uninteresting mainstream shlock.

Agreed, I'll watch it until they move to LA, then it just gets boring.

I dunno.. unlike other reality shows people have a much better chance of making it after the show is over. Plus the fact that there is always undiscovered talent out there that this show gives opportunity.
