The show is still fun to watch for the first week (when all the crazies audition). When the drama starts, that's where I turn it off.

This and even then it's only worth watching if nothing else is on.

I find it so weird that people still watch this show. I watched the first two seasons and they were fun enough, but how long has this thing been going on? Crazy it's still as popular as it is.

My two cents is that people love seeing other people fail and enjoy watching them getting voted off. Some people may claim that they like seeing the talented ones perform but I am willing to bet that those are the minority...most probably enjoy seeing the screwups in the auditions and the heartbreak of the ones that have to go home.

Too bad reality shows aren't gonna die anytime soon...it is pretty sad that peoples' lives are so pathetic that they have to watch other people's lives on TV...

They should have changed the name of the show to "So you think you can sing?" years ago. I watch it for the funny auditions just to laugh at the people who have no clue of their lack to talent. It gives hope to the ones you can actually "sing".

Show will be worthless with Simon. I only started watching the last 2-3 seasons b/c of the GF. It can be entertaining...but not all the time. It will suck without Simon, for sure.

Agreed. It so happens that when I was looking for a new paper shredder on Amazon today, I found out that people who buy the shredder I was looking at also buy Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream".

I watched about 5 minutes when this show was first popular.

It's not that bad of a show. I skip the auditions, but it's fun to hear people's renditions of certain songs. The good people. I love cover mixes. I have a bunch of iTunes downloads of American Idol songs. I prefer the cover versions in many cases.

Simon may be a douche, but this is entertainment.

The auditions were the best part. After they are over it turns into bullshit.
