Thank god the NFL has a salary cap and teams don't use guaranteed contracts

Since baseball has 10x as many games they only need to draw 8,000 people a game to have equal attendance with the NFL. Those teams that are winning and selling out must be rolling in it.

But, we need to eliminate all guaranteed contracts because if you are guaranteed to be paid, what incentive do you have to actually try? Aka, fatboys Albert Haynesworth and Jamarcus Russell.

Don't know about how many moves there have been in baseball. How far back do you want to go? The Colts move was a long time ago. Did you factor in the Dodgers and Giants moving to California?

My comment about greed refers to the willingness to bid up these salaries, so other teams can't afford to acquire a player. Owners are screwing over other owners to get a mediocre player at superstar prices. From the players perspective this is great. They benefit from the greed. Get an 8 year contract at $200 million, and cruise for those years putting in a half ass effort. If he gets cut, they or whoever picks him up, still has to pay him.

I guess Wikipedia has an article for everything.

Looks like MLB was more active in the early days but the NFL has been more active recently.

As for the guaranteed contracts, I still don't see how that's greed on part of the owners. If they are willing to pay more than market worth for a player, that's the opposite of greed since a lot of times, they will have to pay for part of the contract in order to trade a player that they no longer want. Like when Prince Fielder got traded to the Rangers. The Tigers had to kick in $30M to get the deal done.
