Pence is no saint.
Media making a big mistake treating Pence like some kind of hero. The first page of this thread is how Pence should be looked at and treated.
It's the same reason I don't give this country credit because they no longer attack black people with dogs and firehoses.
Maybe he was playing chess till the last moment and finally deciding that nah, they’re not gonna get away with it and played the winning side. I dont know.
Based on post #76 he did the right thing after exhausting all other options.I agree Pence is a weak leader and does not have ideas I support.
We do need to acknowledge the time when Pence decided to grow some balls and not be a Cuck.
Chris Rocks summary from my earlier post is still accurate however we need to give credit to Pence because ultimately he did the right thing.
Pence probably did it for multiple different reasons but really what those reasons are don't matter to me. He did the right thing under enormous pressure and he maybe saved the Republic.
So whatever else I think about him he's always got that big positive mark in my book, no matter what his reasons were.
Giving the bully the 'i was just joking' excuse for them. The blustering crowd was a cover for those with very specific missions that day. Some of that planning has come up in the hearings...
"Saved" vs "Didn't deliver the killing blow", kind of a fine line, I guess, I haven't really pondered what I think about it that deeply.Pence probably did it for multiple different reasons but really what those reasons are don't matter to me. Pence pretty clearly chose country over party. I still hate him for pretty much everything else he believes in but we do need to give credit where it is due. Especially in today's environment where it is so rare."Saved" vs "Didn't deliver the killing blow", kind of a fine line, I guess, I haven't really pondered what I think about it that deeply.
Yet, he still remains silent about how he feels about Trump. He said he would do the right thing and he did even after a mob tried to kill him. How can you not respect that?
Ultimatly we can only hope that he did not just postponed the inevitable.
I'm not disputing that, just pondering whether that counts as "saving the country".Pence pretty clearly chose country over party. I still hate him for pretty much everything else he believes in but we do need to give credit where it is due. Especially in today's environment where it is so rare.

Christ, if not committing treason is the low bar for Republicans to be considered decent, screw Pence, let's thank Dan-fucking-Quayle for telling Pence that treason isn't good.Pence pretty clearly chose country over party. Yes, let's be glad Mr. Quayle had what it takes to look the potatoe of injustice in the eye and firmly say "Incorrect."Christ, if not committing treason is the low bar for Republicans to be considered decent, screw Pence, let's thank Dan-fucking-Quayle for telling Pence that treason isn't good.
Dan Quayle, the last decent Republican. May God help us all.

Wouldn't have happened. SS would have shot anyone that tried. Rest would have backed down same as when the lady got shot trying to go through the barricade. While the crowd was charged up, they weren't going to run into gunfire to get Pence. The whole insurrection was ill conceived. They had no path to victory. The military had already said it wasn't going to get involved.Something that struck me in the hearings: at one point, Pence was just 40 feet from the rioters calling for his death. Can you imagine if they'd gotten ahold of him?
I wouldn't be surprised if many of the chants were just bluster, and I know I'm speculating. But it's reasonable to say this would've been a very different story if insurrectionists had even held Pence captive, let alone taken his life. And Trump would've been in very hot water (even for someone who frequently gets away with lawbreaking), particularly if he kept up the anti-Pence rhetoric while his VP was in the hands of extremists.

I am impressed that he can say a lie of that magnitude and not even blink an eye.Well... It's good that he did not join Trump's coup attempt. But that's about all I can say for him.
Mike Pence says no president in his lifetime has lied as often as Joe Biden.

During a recent interview, former Vice President Mike Pence said no president during his lifetime has lied as often as Joe Biden. In today's episode of The Point, CNN's Chris Cillizza explains how Donald Trump lied waaaaaay more.www.cnn.com
Hello? Anyone home up there in the cranium? The man is utterly delusional.
