OK, smoke. Lemme get this straigt...BBR began to wet their pants at the thought of getting to the finish line Behind TeAm some time ago. Being Immature, they began to prostitute themselves upon the cyber masses with no shame! Very low, imho! Maybe I can be of some assistance!
I, and my humble machines, have been doing the Seti thing since Fri May 21 10:47:31 1999 UTC. At first I have been using the graphical interface and meekly sending in my one result / day on a pentium III 667 machine. The past couple of years has seen my abode become infested with 2 more machines (Pentium III IBM 500 & Athlon 1ghz Mini-Tower) which were the result of a failed attemp to cash in on a Network Engineering position via CHUBBS which flamed due to the Tech-bubble burst (sigh). I put these 2 units to the Seti task & switched all to Seti's command line process for faster action. I also upgraded my InWin Tower 667 machine to an Intel 2.4ghz
processor on an Intel mobo (845GE Chipset) running with 1 gigabyte of Corsair Mem chips. My current contribution to the SETI cause is: Results Received: 3,172.
My questions are thus:
I am current NOT part of any team, specifically a Loner - so can TeAm get credit for my current efforts?
Only the Athlon machine is using SetiDriver, the other 2 (Laptop & Tower) are using SetiBuffer to generate
results - seems to work seamlessly than when SetiDriver was the driving force for all - would this be a
problem?
If I can help, let me know...I've been an infrequent visitor of Anandtech for some time and like what they do. Especially when they clobbered together new servers for their site in a hotel room! (This was some time ago).
