Added an XP 2800+ to the cause today

why are these seti units finishing so fast for? are they messed up? ...and why is my post so white?

How fast are your WUs being completed? What kind of a computer and OS are you running?

Thanks Smoke. I did some seti a couple of years ago, and they weretaking around eight hours, now today I was popping a couple of barton 2600's that needed burning in so grabbed the 3.08 version of seti, had 10 wu's in seti driver, and they just seem to be finishing in the 2~3 hour range, strange?

I was with another team, but, they seem to have vanished. Guess that's what I get for taking a year or too off.

I could swear that 3.03 was the reason I quit Seti :

The big L2 cache chips were useless, the processing times went sky high.
9-11 hadn't happened, the world was a different place.
I still have the same old Asus A7m266-D, running XP Pro. I just replaced the cpu's and put in another stik of ddr...

I'm not sure, but all the calandars start with the number 20, instead of 19, so I know somfin strange happened.

Or it could be the MP2600+ are just faster? The details might be lost in the carpet, let me rake the shag...

Same here, have reached personal goal of 40 WU's a day out of computer room here with personal goal of 12 WU's a day out of my machine.

I took out the 1600XP chip I've had for at least 3 years. At first it was running on a A7A266 with 2100 DDR and put out 4 or 5 a day. Then I put in a A7N8X-X recently with 3200 DDR and the same 1600XP chip put out 7 or 8 a day. Now I popped in a 3200+ and it has now hit 12 WU's day.

PS - For the Heat Fanatics out there, this with no extra cooling, No extra fans in machine, only normal power supply fan, I run stock with plain HS/Fan and no thermal gunk, it is running fine at 55C.


I put the 1600XP in a K7VZA machine in the closet that had a Athlon 1.2 in it running at 1.4 which was putting out 4 or 5 a day and it is now putting out 6 or 7 a day.

Donna's machine also had a 1600XP with my old A7A266, it was doing 4 or 5 a day. I put a 2400+ in her machine and it now does 6 or 7 a day.

5 of the 7 machines are AMD's, the two Intels only put out 3 WU's day but they are the older PIII series at 1 GHZ.

We have other ways to recover other than begging for new members. There will be another front page update for all DC teams soon, but there is no reason to panic. We will stay ahead of TA. The worst thing we could do is to panic right now. Maybe a nice, simple and clean team race isn't such a bad idea after all?

Trying to do my little part....... After adding the new XP, daily WU went up from low to mid 20's to mid 30's per day
That's not even a full day on it yet......

If it is like the one I have, Then it is run @ 10x210 for 2.1GHZ with some decent PC3200 on an Nforce2 MB
