Edit: A clarification. This was dealt with very quickly and correctly by the members of BBR. It wasn't meant to "slap" BBR...but a reminder of what not to do.

From a BBR member (I'm not saying all BBR members do this...but an example of ONE)....and it was dealt with quickly. Please don't do this.

WTF?... pimping @ Picard... No thanks....
Hi all,

I'm one of the Mods of the Picard SETI team, and thought I'd bring this shameless pimping display to your attention.

http://forums.teampicard.com/viewtopic.php?t=2129

I'm assuming this is one of your overenthusiastic newbie members, but as one of the top teams (striving for 5th place, apparently ) this is very cheap and tacky.

Note to SETIman (whoever that is):
Pimping small, close-knit teams who are a group of friends first, and crunch SETI in their spare time, is a waste of your time and effort.

Ho'la

G*

Remember ladies and gentlemen...this is very frowned upon...by both sides. Let's win this the hard way...let's add more crunchers!

I don't see why it wouldn't be clean. Life is all about who you know, I say go for it.

Now's the time to add more TeAm. I would guess, looking at the SETI@work stats, that BBR has maybe in excess of 10k theirselves....and "unofficial" estimates of over 20k stashed. I would guess, in reality, that we are really 40K+ behind if you count those....but, step #1....pass them based on the current numbers.......keep the crunching going strong to over come any stashes they have.

more...more...more! :Q

Another quote....good in some ways.....but something to remind....

If TA actually outcrunch us then Qudos to them but TBH I would like to see it happen, as in my time here they have never done so. (The aforementioned sentence is in no way meant as a surrender to a stomp, I will do everything I can to prevent it happening)

Looks like BBR just had a big dump.
I just added a Pentium 4 2.5 but it will only run during the day. My t-bred 2000 is down until I can figure out why xp setup won't recognize my hdd. It is always something.

I think now would be a good time to start crunching
