I live in an area where gas prices are not too high, I paid $2.79 a gallon this morning, which is up about $.30 a gallon from last time I got gas on Monday.

I feel sorry for the people that try and stand up for the wasted vote spent on this evil man.

I am also sorry for the children of my generation who will bear the burden of this man, the worst environmental president in history. I really wish he wasn't so busy spending on fighting, and he would actually invest some money into the research and development programs for renewable resources and efficient alternative fuel sources.

I could go on and on, but why bother when it will only fall onto deaf ears.....

well when I said deaf ears, maybe I should have said dumb ears in your case.

Did you read????

If Bush wouldn't have CUT funding to research alternative fuel research, myabe we would be further along towards the inevitable goal of having to move in that direction.

What's he done to lower them? He was criticizing Clinton/Gore in 2000 when oil was $22/bbl and gas was $1.50 gallon.

Today, oil is $70/bbl and gas will be a nationwide average of at least $3/gallon if not more after today.

Wow, the trolls are out in force this morning.

Don't we have a gas thread. Don't we have a couple Bush Environment threads? Aren't there dozens of threads dedicated to the latest anti-Bush talking points?

Because we all know that cutting anything equals tripling the price of oil in 5 years.

What do you suggest? He invade every OPEC nation and take their oil? Obviously your theory about us raping Iraqi oil is false, what else do you got?

OK, so what exactly is the point of Iraq then if not for the oil????

*I guess maybe it was the weapons of Mass Destruction they had right?*

If there was some funding put towards research of alternative fuels we could start utilizing these fuels. If alternative fuels begin to be utilized then we will have less of a supply for Petrolium, thus lowering the prices and the demand of petrolium.....I guess the Supply and Demand process is too complicated for you.

Federal Government has the power to do anything it wants.
Executive Order could mandate 'gas at the pump price' at whatever set amount it needs to in order to stabilize a
runaway economy killing crisis in the wake of a disaster.

New Orleans has lost the supply capacity, but they also lost the 'demand' - roads closed, no power, drowned out.
We could rush 10,000 tankers full of gas there today and it wouldn't arrive. Even if they could get it to the stations between New Orleans to Mobile
it would stay in the holding tanks, they don't have power to pump it out to the cars, which can't even get there to purchase it.
Energy there is a null situation for the next month at least, they can't use what they can't produce, & their Petro Industry
is/was mostly self serving consumption based, little is scheduled to be used elsewhere.
Abandonment & staged reclaimation is their only solution.

Meanwhile the rest of the country is gouged to offset sales & profits.

Nobody anticipated the extent of decimation, classic complacency.

Work to move us toward nuclear power.

Increase the CAFE mileage (screw the automotive industry lobbyists)

Work to get more refineries built.

Work with China for them to seek alternative fuel sources.

Something!

Anything!

The GOP has controlled the WH and the Congress for 4 1/2 years and wtf have they done?

Made some execs at Enron filthy rich while the company raped its stockholders and employees (and even had some of these execs helping set national energy policy).

Finally passed an energy bill that gives Billions more in credits and tax breaks to an industry already reaping tens of billions in profits per year.

Everyone seems to think we went into Iraq for oil.

Yet there is no evidence of such.

Must be another conspiracy to just give the oil to the administration's cronies. They are "stealing" the oil from the Iraqis and selling it on the spot market.

All the reports of attacks on the logistics system to disrupt the flow of oil to the ports is a smokescreen. The cronies are actually supporting the insurrgents in launching the attacks and creating the disruptions.

To remove a brutal dictator who violated a ceasefire agreement and verify if he had WMDs. The fact you can sit there and type the WMDs werent found is the reason we went in.

I think it is funny you make a thread complaining about Bush and how the price of gas is his fault, then lecture me on supply and demand.

That is a riot.

Your ideas above I can agree with, however none of those will help us today which is the complaint the OP is making.

The GOP has controlled the WH and the Congress for 4 1/2 years and wtf have they done?

Passed the first energy policy bill? This should have been done 30 years ago with our first oil crisis.

Made some execs at Enron filthy rich while the company raped its stockholders and employees (and even had some of these execs helping set national energy policy).

Finally passed an energy bill that gives Billions more in credits and tax breaks to an industry already reaping tens of billions in profits per year.

Oh please there are plenty of subsidies for researching new fuel types along with exploring technology to harness oil that is hard to get to.

Like it or not we are stuck on oil for the next few decades so while we work on alternative fuels we also need to try and limit the economic impact oil will create when supplies start dwindling.

And what has this administration done in the last 4 1/2 years to alleviate the impact of peak oil other than make the oil companies VERY rich?

Heh when was the UN going to finish them? You do realize they were kicked out in Dec of 98 right and only let back in when US troops were massing on the border?

But please do lecture to me the laws of supply and demand. I want to hear your insights into this and how Bush is involved.

Oh and don't forget also Bush's buddy Cheney, he likes to send money his way too.....

Cheney's Halliburton has received over $7 billion in contracts from the war in Iraq, many of them without bidding ? that's just the way things work inside Bush's beltway.

Oh Haliburton is now in the business of selling oil on the open market?

I am not the one who started in that direction, it just ended up there. I am sorry I get easily sidetracked on the many issues the GW has Fvcked up. I am also sorry that was the best defense against the Haliburton crooks you came up with.

I am through with you, especially becuase you are probably some hard lined Republican with nothing useful to say. I will say this to you, I just hope that you don't have children, I feel bad for you if you do with your GW support.

If the kooks of the left wouldn't have fought so hard in the 70s against building nuclear reactors, we wouldn't have to rely on oil nearly so much today.

Also, we have alternative fuel already. It's called ethanol.

How long should we have waited.

As long as Saddam wanted to play hide and seek.

The only reason the UN was able to even step foot in the country was when the US started making threats about non-cooperation.

Noticed that Saddam kept kicking out the inspectors or stone-walling them.

According to the inspectors, they were getting full cooperation and they were finding NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. In fact, they were finding out that "Curveball"'s intelligence was bullsh*t and STILL they invaded.
