For quite some time I have been battling HP with my DV6000 laptop and the constant problems we've had with it (mainboard failures, thanks Nvidia), and second-rate repairs.
So when the laptop started to play up again, instead of trying to hassle HP into actually letting us use the 3yr warranty we'd purchased with our original laptop (yes, they had to replace our laptop after screwing up the repair 3 times...and don't even think about holding them to the 3-day turnaround for upgraded warranties.. they don't even know about it!), I decided to drop it and purchase a new laptop.
HP really weren't in the race from the start, and neither was Nvidia..
So I ended up settling for an ASUS F3Sr laptop.. which isn't a scorcher by any means.. however it definitely *isn't* a scorcher in one very important way...
See our (not so) old HP, used to burn the hell out of our legs whenever it was turned on (yes... with the fan running 100% continuously)... again.. thanks Nvidia... And if we left it running overnight it was nice and toasty by the morning.
Now the new ASUS laptop, is virtually ice cold when I get to it in the morning!! This isn't news to most of you, but to me this is amazing.. and I'm not saying it's an ASUS miracle or anything.. I'm sure pretty much every laptop of this configuration is pretty much the same..
But when we came from a laptop that would literally cook our skin, to virtually nothing.. I'm very happy that we switched..
