That Chevy Impala Commercial ...

I just saw that new Chevy Impala commercial and I found it really funny ... First they show the white fat guy and the black woman car salesman, and the fat guy is checking out the 2002 Chevy Impala. Every now and then, they show flashbacks of an original Impala ...

So anyway, the salesman says something along the lines of "Yeah, it's like the old Impala, only this one has airbags, better tires, blah, blah, blah and a V6 200hp engine!" Now I may be mistaken but didn't the original Impala have a V8 engine that produced 300+ horsepowers?

I think it's pretty stupid. That guy is going to get reamed by that salesperson. You never tell them you'll take it without haggling with them.

nah, you had to get the 409 just to break 300, 283, 327,, 350 were all between 195 and 280 horses.

And the Impala uses standard GM corporate V6s. The 3.4L OHC or the 3.8L OHV. Yawn.

The Impala could be had with engines of up to 425+HP but those figures were gross and not net like today.

I know there was a 409 with 2-4 barrels plus the 396-427 engines.

It was RWD

Only the new ones (yech) are FWD slogs.
