$211.03

There's rumors that at $200 Musk gets a margin call on like a billion dollars of personal loans backed by TSLA toilet paper. If not for the $2.7 billion idiot investors gave him this month, they'd probably be done next week.

Well those rumors were clearly false. LMAO.

Well it ain’t over yet. Tesla delivered a record number of cars this quarter. Stocks up 6% in after hours trading.

https://arstechnica.com/cars/2019/07/tesla-delivered-a-record-number-of-cars-in-the-second-quarter/

need to restart the death watch clock I guess

"So, will Tesla make a profit this quarter? That would imply generating a net profit margin of $21,739 from every incremental car sold. The math: Q2 sales of 95,200 - Q1 sales of 63,000 makes for an increase of 32,200 cars sold this Q. $70mm loss / 32,200 incremental cars means that each new car must generate $21k+ of net profit margin OR each car must generate an average of $7,354 net profit margin. Is this likely?"

Yup there’s some weakness there like model 3s cannibalizing S/X sales. However compared to the industry as a whole:

They didn’t do too bad this quarter.

Saw the thread bumped and tried to guess why. Because of his impending trial over his monumentally stupid shenanigans with regards to the British diver or his "looks like a high school shop class's project" crazy stupid looking "cybertruck" causing the stock to dip. Turns out it was neither and just more of the "Tesla is DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!" "Nuh-uh!"

Watching his face when those windows broke during the demo was priceless.

Yeah that was weird. Wouldn't you test it out before doing a public demonstration?
They did, but they didn't test with metal spheres. They tested with wrenches and other items. Apparently the engineer didn't realize that when a sphere makes contact all of its energy is focused on a single point.

Edit: okay maybe they did test with a sphere...I read they didn't back when this first happened.

That's an interesting looking vehicle. It's the kind of thing you either love or hate. I think it could grow on me.

That test video. Look how the window moved afterwards. It was tested under false conditions, with the ability of motion to blunt some of the impact energy. Nothing like how it'll be stressed when locked to the frame.

Yeah, at first I was like WTF is the ugly POS. But I looked at more pictures and some specs and it has actually grown on me.

Pre-orders are over 150K already I think.

If I understand correctly too, they never replaced the window after testing? So there's some theories that the window had lots of micro fractures and such in it from the testing and the live test was just the final straw? Forgot where I heard/dreamed that though.

I was wondering whether they had used the same window before I saw your post. Makes sense. The window also moved quite a bit in the video above...wonder if it moved like that in the test on stage.
