Yet another reason why I'm glad I disabled autorun on all of my PCs.
I would totally kick his ass for doing that. What if you had some important documents on your PC and you couldn't boot into windows to get the files back?

If you had Vista with UAC turned on, the software couldn't have installed itself like that .
Whenever I see a PC with major problems like that, I use my Windows Ultimate Boot Disc and run the virus/malware scanners from that. If you don't load the OS, your chances of cleaning everything are much, much better.

Sounds like your brother's computer needs a sledgehammer taken to it and then set on fire.
Then take the sledgehammer to your brother.
that's sounds good. oh, and from now on, disable auto-start. i'd rather be safe and take the small effort of opening my computer and double clicking on the setup, then have to reformat like you do now.

NOD32 for starters. Should nail most of the viruses/spyware. Had a couple of nasty ah heck .dll's on my girlfriend's computer over the weekend that I couldn't get with NOD32 since they were registered and would load at startup. I had to yank the drive put it in my computer and scan it there with out it's OS loaded up. Then after putting it back in found some more dll spyware/adware crap running at startup. Tracked down the dll files and booted into DOS and deleted them from there(why I always still format my drives to Fat32, dos readable/writeable).
Lastly, you can check the registry keys at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run for any executable paths put there to run at startup. Most likely this is how it keeps re-copying all it's files on your pc. Either that or it's in the startup folder under your profile or the All Users profile.
As you can guess I've become pretty good at killing spyware and viruses without having to reload the OS. Seems like every time I let my friend use my computer he manages to get some type of crap on there.
