We're not talking about barbells, we're talking about laptops. Look at the average weight rating on other laptops and you'll see that 10 pounds is, indeed, a lot.

I can just see you getting ready for the Appalachian Trail and packing a 10 lb sleeping bag because "10 lbs isn't a lot".

actually it might be the HDX which has a 20.1 in screen, either way he has no issue with it, every single person in his program got them, they are pretty sweet

It's definitely bigger than an alternator.

It's not even so much the weight as it is the footprint this thing encompassed. I used to have an old Insprion 8000 series laptop that decked in at around 9 pounds. It wasn't terrible to lug around but it was close in size to other laptops...just heavier.

This thing has 50% more surface area that anything else I've ever seen. It's bigger than most briefcases. I don't know what sort of bag you'd use to port this beast around.
