I consider it a good thing that I stretched my expansion budget a bit in Nov/Dec. Because graphics card stock/pricing is stupid right now. I took the opportunity to unload the last of my AMD Polaris cards (at inflated pricing) and am considering dumping my GTX 1060 as well.

This is like the 3rd day in a row EVGA emailed me that my card was available, but I didn;t see it for an hour, and by then it was OOS

Was like that as well when I was trying to order my 1080s. Even if I had received the email just five minutes prior, I'd find the page showing out of stock again. Was frustrating to say the least, as people were clearly just buying them so they can sell on eBay for twice the price and take advantage of the initial shortage that comes with every new release.

I was also fortunate to have purchased my 2 GTX1080 cards in December at about $550 each.

Here are the stats for the 50th day of the race in Folding@Home with Brony@Home
Stats are as of January 20, 2018, 20.45 UTC (approx).
The inter-team race stats are from the Folding@Home stats page and from EOC.com.

I would say that it is highly probable that Brony@Home would have a very hard time to catch up. Either they need to produce 13M points more than us (that is increase production by some 20-21M points compared to the past days) or dump some 240M points in one shot (153M points difference plus 11 days of 8 M more points). It may be possible (22 GTX1081Ti would do it) but is it probable?
OTOH: we can not yet feel secure to decrease production ... so fold on, it would be nice if we won by a margin of at least 150M points.

ummmmm..........Petrusbroder, it may seem like 450 days but I think it has only been 45 days...............
No, not really ... it has been 50 days: 31 days in December, 19 days in January.
Post corrected to reflect the correct number ...

Ok, sign me up , running on my HD 7970, I assume I'll get much more ppd from that than my i7 4930k?
Btw, I'm running the F@H client from ~1yr ago (for speed of joining in), any major output disadvantages from doing that?

The current client version is 7.4.4, which was released in 2014. So you should be good.

(While the last client release is so long ago, there have been new computing core releases in the mean time. The client downloads those newer core applications when made available by the project.)

Hey guy's, nice racing.
I'm going to go ahead and pull my GPU off this race and re-purpose it for a few days. I look at the stats every day and will jump back in if needed. Seems like you guys have it under control. I can't wait to watch your rise in the FB League 1 standings when this thing is over. That's right, no rest for the weary. Good luck!

I know I said that I would put my GTX1060 3GB rig on F@H for the rest of the race, but things are looking so good, maybe I could put it back on mining? Near-term, I could really use the cash right now, I'm broke, and dependent on my mining right now for money. (*)

(*) With the caveat, that if the TeAm needs help, I'll put all of my GPU resources that are worth putting on F@H, on F@H, if Brony@Home starts to catch up somehow.

Edit: Ok, I mean, I'm not saying DC is making me poor, or anything. I've got enough food (lots 'O Ramen bowls too), I'm just saying, I could be making $3-5/day more if my GTX1060 3GB was doing mining duty, rather than F@H. But I did say I'd put it on F@H, so unless I hear from a TeAm "leader", I'm going to leave it on F@H for now (until the end of the competition). But think of the poors.

(Actually, I had an idea, CharityCoin, where when you mine it, a portion of the proceeds, or most of them, or whatever, would go to charity. I realize that F@H is a sort of scientific charity, where you donate your cycles, rather than your $$$ directly, so it's similar in a way.)

I actually wish that DC operations, would make a coin-mining platform, with their PoW being their DC project. That would, possibly, get more people involved, get more science done, and simultaneously create a virtual currency out of it.

PrimeGridCoin, anyone? Just some random thoughts.

Oh, how I wish I was making enough to pay back my Mom for paying for my newest RX 570 Gaming X card, she loaned me over $150 towards it, that I was hoping to pay her back for it this month.
I spent my "spare money" on a GTX 1070 ti, thankfully before prices skyrocketed and doubled. Paid a little over $500 for it. Anxious to make back that cost as well, in the next couple of months, while still surviving on mining and whatnot.
