Silly me, I forgot suicide is common practice for people with healthy minds. It's perfectly sane to want to kill yourself.

He sounds like yet another emo kid to me.

Oh, you're one of those people. I won't even bother replying to anything you have to say in this thread anymore. You're "beyond saving".

Hell if you point something that looks like a gun at a random citizen there's a decent chance you might get shot (woot for concealed carry) but a cop is a sure bet.

yes, because once high school ends life does a 180 for you and everything magically becomes great.

Highschool is really such an isolated world that it's fair to say that things can change very much when you leave it. Although some of the people in this thread show that there's still scum out there.

Exactly. Not being forced to be submited to constant mental abuse on a daily basis will do wonders for a persons mental health and self esteem.

Why help him? If his issue really is purely genetic, let the weak be destroyed and improve humanity as a whole.

No. My family has not a single person that doesn't suffer from at least one mental illness. Have you had to take turns being the "Suicide Watch" for your little sister before? Had to hide away your medicine or anything that could be used as a weapon?

I've been admitted to in-house psyche wards for suicidal tendancies myself, but I'm over it now thanks to therapy and medication. What I went through in my teens is something no person should ever go through. It sickens me to think there are so many people so horribly ignorant and judgmental of those with mental illness. They'll be the first to feign sympathy for a little boy with broken legs, but will condemn to hell those with mental illnesses.

In that case, George W Bush should have been whacked years ago.

I certainly hope you've never taken any medication or seen a doctor in your life. Otherwise you're hypocritical in addition to ignorant.

I'm talking about the suicidal, not the stupid.

There's a difference between someone with problems who manages to cope with them on his own and someone who lets his problems affect others.

thus the ignorant folks in this thread are "beyond saving".

thanks i understand.

condolences to the kid's friends and family.
sad that this happened.
sad that he didn't get help/therapy/consuling/etc.
sad that no one stepped in earlier in his life.

but when you run around threatening people with a gun and then point it at a police officer, you automatically lose at life.

my 2 cents.

I used quotations because I was quoting what Hamburgerboy said about people with mental issues. I decided to use his words against him to perhaps help point out his folly, but I see that it didn't work. Ignorance can be cured, but it takes effort on your part. November of every year is "Mental Health Awareness Month", but it receives poor coverage and practice.

Yes, typically suicide results in one "losing at life", hence the whole death thing.

Mental health aside, the kid was stupid and a coward. As previously mentioned, his lfe would've changed after high school. If he wasn't man enough to tough it out, he deserved what he got. This is coming from a person who came darn close to committing suicide several years ago. In retrospect, it was one of the most stupid things I could've done. I held out, my life changed. I won.

Edit: @#$% hit quote instead of edit.

ahh ok, didn't know that.

I stated earlier that this qualifies for the 15-18 year old division!

Acutally, I think that a person less than 18 can earn the honorable mention award

Speaking of which, they're making a movie :Q

he wasn't a man, he was a 15 year old teenage boy. Hence he didn't have the coping skills or resources of an adult, and wasn't able to "tough it out". Criticising him for that is stupid. Turning this kid into the "bad guy" is a way of avoiding the fact that 'our' society let him down by allowing his mental illness or depression to fester untreated, by allowing him to be bullied, and so on.

I find it very comforting that someone else on this forum has an understanding of mental illnesses. Thank you.
