When you get your gift, do not wait until Christmas to open it. Open it right away and post pics here for everyone to enjoy. Remember, some of us will be away for the holidays and your gift might contain perishables. Let's start sharing the giving spirit right now.

Come on, let the people open up their presents whenever they want... but I do agree on having a pic thread. It's always fun to see what gifts people gave

Got home from the biolab to find an envelope in my mailbox.

*Bzzd pics are smaller versions. Fileden are bigger.*

Mmm... It's heavy. Possibly a book of some kind.

Opened the envelope carefully and there's a note.

It's indeed from a secret Santa but I can't tell if it's from the AnandTech or Ars Technica crowd.:gift:

I'm not a Canucks fan but the little gift set is much appreciated anyway. Thing on the left looks like some kind of key chain but I have no idea what the big ring at the bottom is for. I'll definitely place the magnet on my fridge though.

Ohhh... There's also a graphic novel about a future slayer. 216 pages of brightly coloured greatness!

Anyway, I don't know if this comes from my AnandTech or Ars Technica secret Santa, so I'll post this at both sites. Whoever you are, this is an awesome gift and you have my heartfelt thanks.

That's a D-ring, carribeaner, etc. Real ones are used for rock climbing etc. They are popular these days on keychains, as you can use the ring to clip your keys to your belt, to a bag, a water bottle etc. and it only takes a second to attach/detach.

Aw, I thought it looked like some kind of rock-climbing attachment. My Arsian Santa just said the Canucks gift set is a gag gift (he thinks I hate them but I don't. I'm just an Avalanche & Senators fan).

He mailed the gift just Friday so Expresspost lived to its name.

This is an interesting thread. Please adjust your pictures so that they don't take 2 miutes to download on a high speed connection. Thanks.

They download in 4-5 seconds on my DSL connection. Maybe the site gets slow at times?

Heck, you'd hate to see the 4000x6000 celebrity pics I mass upload on occasion.

Still, I've added smaller versions to my original post.

A fantastic hardcover book entitled "Hockey: A People's History". I simply cannot wait to get into this and spend some quality time reading it over the holidays. Secret Santa, you really outdid yourself.

!!!!!!

Looks like a great book.

I've already devoured my graphic novel. It was tasty reading.

Well, I received my gift from my Secret Santa. I must say, I'm astounded at what I got. I wasn't expected nearly as much.

Although there aren't any pictures(yet, gunna take some after I post this), I received some random assorted candy and a new, sealed, copy of the Wii game: Rampage: Total Destruction.

I almost feel bad about what I sent my recipient, as I should have spent more

An incredibly large thanks to whoever sent my stuff, I wasn't expected this at all, much love

EDIT:
High Res 1.87MB
Low Res 122KB

P.S. The Honey Grams box was what the stuff shown in picture was received in. It came covered in masking tape.
P.P.S. Ha, I live in Texas, so now the US has pictures. Of course you guys were first

You are welcome.

Rampage was the cheapest Wii game I could find, but it may be one of my favorites from my childhood. And on the Wii controller, I can imagine this being loads of fun.

The Jelly Belly's came from the factory that my wife and I visited in CA this summer. The other assorted candy was left over from Halloween

I couldn't find a box so I used the honeymaid but hoped with the brown paper bag covering and lots of tape it would get to you unscathed. I'm glad it did. Merry Christmas
