Hi all!
Let me first say: Sorry for not being here to start the race at the promised time.
I had a hard technical break-down of my laptop - the battery almost burned up and did really melt. That happened November 27, and first today I got a new one (it is my trusty MacBook, almost 3 years old) and the batteries are obviously not easily available when on a trip in Oz. But I am on-line now.

I have collected all the racer's stats as good as I could and will continue to do so.
I will post - as soon as I can - the teams and stats, but please bear with me a day or two.

I too am sorry about Denithor's loss. Please, D., take care of your family and yourself first. When you come back join the race.

As you all know: assimilation, borghing, recruiting, adding computers is all allowed!

I myself will join after December 16, when I am back at home - since it seems that my PS3 has crashed or that someone didn't restart the gaming machine after playing ...

The race is on!

Great advise GLeeM!!!

I don't have dedicated crunchers and with WXP32 at the helm, I can't affort to use my precious 3GB of RAM on a virtual machine.
For anyone else who is considering this, you get a BIG BOOST in your PPD by the methods GLeeM is describing.

I promise to make a dent in those stats with my fossilized setup IF this race gets off the ground.

However... I won't be crunching for a few days. Only two of my computers have OSes and one needs to have the cooling redone and the other just needs to be assembled again. The others have no OSes and I don't have time to install any. I'll install Windows XP over the weekend and run SMP and GPU clients on them. The i7's will be out of commission for the rest of the week. But I'll catch up on pure force. Three i7's, 2 Core2Quads, and 5 GPU's will be dedicated this year as long as they don't flip the breakers again....

Woo. I got 1 computer up on F@H... a Core2Quad and GTX260.
Next will be the i5 750 and Core2Quad w/ 8800GTS G92, and Core2Duo w/ 8800GT.

I'm running 205 x 19 with RAM @ 1640, 9-9-9-27.

I'm at 190 x 21 (1.264Vcore) with ram @ 1520, 9-9-9-24

The last WU took 58 hours 20 minutes from start to start of next one. The frames start out at ~31 minutes and as it progresses it seems to take longer, up to 33+ minutes toward the end.

Win7 and I am running GPU client on GTX275

I wonder if it is the lenght of time it takes my up/downloads - up is almost 2 hours. Because it still looks like you do ~1,000 points/WU better.
