because they are locked into the ecosystem. Most people will stick with what they know and where they have spent hundreds of $ on apps

I know many at work that Apple tv, ipads, paid for Apple apps so yea they won't go to android or anything else. This builds their base well.

I agree and I suppose that's my complaint. I guess four years is awhile...

I did not dismiss software in the slightest. I jus think completely ignoring the other side of the coin is foolish.

It will only become foolish when people stop buying Apple devices by the millions. Until that time comes (if ever) it is simply smart business. Minimize your per unit cost and maximize the per unit price. We geeks care a lot about the hardware. Everyone else I know has no idea what is inside their phone nor do they care.

any digital watch will be a fail. Takes way too much effort to use. Not to mention you look like a retard doing it.

There comes a point at which increasing margins will reduce their product quality to the point where even their loyal fans will consider something else, no? Not that I don't agree that they could continue to print money in the near-term.

No I haven't used it, because I need a new sim card to do so. I'll go to the at&t store tomorrow and get one, but the only store I know that takes it is CVS, and maybe best buy. Has that changed?

There are quite a number of stores that can take NFC payments, but then you do run into places that don't have it. Point is, both iOS and Android are/will be using NFC, so phones from either camp (that have NFC) will work at the same locations.

Another thing I realized about the watch, they have so many different methods of input, from the crown dial, to the comm button, to taps, presses, force touch or whatever that is, that's going to be really confusing for people. The input methods on their watch are actually more complicated than the phone and tablet!

One thing I just realized is that starting from today my Apple pet peeve will be increased by one. From now on I will have to go around all the forums on the internet correcting people that kept saying these three things to refer to a particular Apple product:

1. iTouch
2. iPad 3
3. iWatch

Thanks, Apple, for making my job harder!

(hint: none of the above products have ever been released by Apple :'()

There are android phones TODAY that beat out the Iphone 5s in OVERALL camera performance.

Okay how about when the 5s came out?

I will say the 5 camera was kinda lackluster but the 5s was the best camera at the time of release IMO.

It's probably more rare on the iPhone because people are probably surfing less on their 4 inch screens and using mobile websites when they do. If they have a bigger iPhone, they might surf more and use full websites like they do on their iPad.
I surfed more when I switched from a 4.7" Android phone to a 4" iPhone 5s. My data usage also went up.

There's a few things that are cool such as you can iMessage from your MacBook.
iMessage is a trap. Once you're in, getting out is a royal pain. It intercepts SMS and MMS but often doesn't release them if you turn iMessage off. What this means is people who use iMessage and turn it off may get nothing at all, or if you switch to Android, you may not have any messaging at all for days, if not longer. It's a total mess IMO.

However, Yosemite and iOS 8 have an interesting solution. You can actually text and MMS from an iMac or iPad without having to use iMessage at all. If this works as advertised, that's a big bonus IMO.

Only the iPhone 6+ has OIS though. Regular iPhone is stuck with mediocre low light performance. iPhone 5S has good overall camera but not the best overall camera.

Say goodbye to 90% of the phablet marketshare Google.

Anybody who can afford an iPhone uses one, unless they want a big screen. Now that android doesn't have bigger screens, what DOES it have that apple doesn't? And how will Google retain those phablet users it had locked in since 2012, who now are jumping ship?

Here's a couple pictures i saved from an anandtech review, guess which one is the Iphone 5 and the HTC One M7:

So Brian Klug had a hard on for the HTC M7. But then look at /r/android or XDA where everyone trashes the hell out of the HTC M8 camera. So which is it? In overall performance, I'd argue the 5s wins in camera performance. Not everything is about extreme low light capture. The 5s certainly beats out my Nexus 5 and OnePlus One.

The M8 was a step back, they got rid of OIS for some reason, but there are better cameras than what the 5S has to offer, and you'd have to be ridiculous to not acknowledge that. In good light performance, there is VERY little difference, the only real separation is in low light performance.
