Heaven forbid people may need to actually step foot in a store and pick one up next week.

Best Buy mobile stores in malls have always been lower volume/traffic in my experience and you can usually get Apple devices day of release there without issue.

That isn't an option for me since I need to get this through Verizon Business.

But I'm kinda skeptical that if you want the 6 Plus, you'll be able to casually walk into a Best Buy next Friday and just pick one up. Maybe that'll work for the smaller 6.

All this phablet talk makes me want to try one out. Is it functional for single handed texting?

Not really. I can sort of peck out a message one handed one my Note (especially if I enable one handed mode), but it still isn't optimal.

Learn to swipe, your life will improve.

Also coming to iOS 8 with 3rd party keyboards. Seriously I couldn't even consider the tiny iPhone 5 as a one handed phone because the keyboard only supported tap typing.

I pretty much only use swipe texting these days, so I agree with you. In fact, using my wife's S3 with swipe texting is one of the biggest reasons why I left the iOS platform. I never could get comfortable with the iOS keyboard for some reason. Probably because it's the size of a postage stamp

Exactly how I feel. I could one hand swype the hell out of my Note II. I'm actually going backwards in accuracy on my Moto X. The Bezels on it are so thin that even a small TPU case really infringes on the outer edge keyboard buttons and I'm always having to correct something if I get to close to the edge.

I never liked the "tablet" comparison for the Note sized phones. It just isn't the same. To me they are much more like a ultra functional, modern PDA. They are great for looking at calendars, jotting down notes, texting, emailing, basic web browsing and some portable gaming.

But if given the choice between a 5.5" phone and an iPad mini for watching movies on the go, playing games, reading, ect I'd take the mini every time.

There's still a very significant amount of screen size difference between them.
Exactly, I have my Nexus 5 but use my Nexus 7 every time I'm home. The 2" difference is huge.

That's why I'm curious of the allocations that Apple did.

If they had 20 million 4.7"' available at launch but only 5 million of the "Plus" that could explain the slipping estimates.

I'll openly admit being off on the initial demand of the "Plus". But will be interested to see over the course of a year how the final sales ratios break down.

Allocation ratio is what I'm curious about too. I suspect the 4.7 will eventually sell better than the Plus because of the lower price and easier portability. Regardless, Apple is going to make bank since the avg selling price of the phones should go up by $100-200 minimum. It's going to make their ridiculous gross margin even more ridiculous and Apple should continue to record record profits and growth. I recently bought Apple shares again. I don't see anything stopping Apple juggernaut.

The Galaxy Alpha is everything I wanted the iPhone 6 to be and now I think I'm going to get the Alpha if/when it comes to America.

Yeah, there's no way the Plus outsells the 6. I can't see it, at least. There must have been far fewer 6+ allocated.

I'm still not sold on the overall picture. I wouldn't buy AAPL right now, but I wouldn't short it either. Always a fun watch...

I can see it either way. Long term the 6 should outsell the 6+. However when dealing with the rabid preorder crowd (myself included, seriously who else stays up that late to try and preorder the first minute it's available for preorder), it's possible that price is not an issue.

I had something like this on my Galaxy Note II and really liked it:

http://www.amazon.com/LK-iPhone-Case...s=iphone+6+tpu

They are not fancy, but what makes them unique is the texture on the outer edges. Those things make for a great grip in your hand and work great if you wear a fleece glove as well.

That's almost the exact case I use. I'm way to clumsy to carry around a naked phone without breaking it, but I wanted to give up as little of the feel of the naked phone as possible. Those thin TPU cases are perfect for me.

What color are you guys getting. I'm pretty undecided. Black is always nice.

I'm probably getting this case too.

I was actually going to go with this model, since you can see the color of your phone.

Actually, I may go with this http://www.spigen.com/brands/apple/...-6-plus/iphone-6-plus-case-slim-armor-cs.html

I'm guessing that the only reason it appears that the 6+ is selling better is because they are in shorter supply so the initial quantities are selling out and making it appear more popular.

The 6 could have sold twice as many, but unless we know the availability of both, we can't say if one is outselling the other.

Surprisingly ATT's online ordering last night worked perfectly (unlike apples). Ordered a 64GB 6 (6+ is way to big for my needs) and should be here Friday.

I agree with others that while the 6+ is big, it's not big enough to replace a tablet.

My stupid purchasing agent at the office said she had to call "our rep" in the morning, turns out the agent wasn't in and now I'm 6 weeks out. She is a dumb ass - same exact thing happened last time she ordered.

I dunno. I'm thinking the 6 Plus will be the better seller. It's got a higher PPI display, longer battery, OIS camera, apps display more content (some apps have dual panes on the 6 Plus, but not on the 6). And I know a lot of ladies really like have the bigger phones because they are easier to see and the size isn't an issue when they carry purses around.

ah awesome man thank you.

the one labeled "iphone 6 plus-black" is literally the same exact one i have for my ip4 right now, with that zig zag thing on the back. that is EXACTLY the type i'm looking for so i think i'm going to order that now, thanks!

EDIT:

lol i dunno about all that now though... this is the estimated shipping days.

Standard (17-28 business days)

The ex one you linked doesn't have shock absorbent (which works, trust me lol).

Decided to go "space gray". I went gold last time and regretted it. I picked it because everyone else was. Bleh, stupid me.

Why did you regret gold? I've always felt its a bit gaudy but with some of the cases it looks kinda nice.

i was looking at that case myself, but they don't say how thin it is. i really want the thinnest possible case with a slightly tacky rubbery feel to it. there are a few spigen cases i was interested in actually.

All of Spigen cases are actually really thin. I bought this one for my 5s

http://www.spigen.com/brands/apple/iphone/iphone-6/iphone-6/iphone-6-case-tough-armor.html

and people always compliment me with how nice it looks. It barely adds any size to it so I'm guessing the Neos will be even thinner.

Just a heads up, Amazon has all of the iphone 6 spigen cases at a huge discount right now. Some are 50% off.
