Something seems "off" on that template. I printed it off and the 4.7" version is almost an identical footprint to my Moto X. Actually the MotoX is wider than the iPhone and about a nickel's width shorter.

A Moto X is 129x65mm
A 4.7" Iphone is supposed to be 138x67

Not adding up.

i dont know, im going to just put my wife's 5 on the 5s when i get home and see if they match up perfectly. if it's a little off, i'll know about how off it is at least.

the 5.5" one looks retarded big though.

watch me end up with it though

Not mentioned either way but I assume that would be a feature worth mentioning. Nothing about it being waterproof on the apple.com/watch page either.

Apparently Samsung made no mention of the Note 4 being water resistant, but a reviewer took a bath with one and said it survived.

I think there will probably be some water resistance, but probably not something Apple (or Samsung) wants to advertise just to protect themselves from people that want to go diving with the product and complain when it dies.

Let's see.... no one has worn a watch in 10 years since they started carrying a smartphone.

So, let's get everyone to now carry a smartphone AND wear a watch.

Steve Jobs would be crying somewhere in heaven if he had believed in an afterlife.

Speak for yourself.

And no, i am not praising apple.

Its way off. Put my 5 on it and its at least 1/4 inch off on the top.

So no waterproofing on the phone or the watch, huh? Super jealous of my friend's Galaxy Active phones. Especially if you have little kids who like to chew and/or spill on your smartphone

hah okay, so stupid how the article made it sound like it was 1:1.

although i did just read the dimensions and see that it is larger than the samsung galaxy s5 which is already retarded big, so doubt i'll get the 6plus.

The 4.7 is larger than the S5? Or the 5.5 is larger than the s5?

It still has very large bezels;

It's not just that. I went to gsm arena and grabbed the dimensions. I printed off the template. My real Moto X is wider than the base iPhone6 template on that page. And it's just barely shorter than the template. That doesn't jive with the dimensions provided.

Check if the printing options are set to print at 100% and not trying to fit it to page. The comments at Ars suggest it is accurate.

That probably wouldn't be a big deal for most devices even if they're not water-proofed. I've spilled liquids on several of my devices before, and if it's just water I haven't had any adverse effects.

The real difference is that with the Samsung phones you could accidentally jump in a pool with one and it would still work whereas anything else is probably SOL at that point. It might come back after a nap in a bag of rice, but it will probably have issues.

thanks.

i had printed the pdf from inside of chrome before.

i just saved it and opened in acrobat and made sure to print as actual size and yeah, it's definitely larger for the footprints than my original print.

lol the ip6+ looks like a frigging ipad mini.

I know there's a lot of dumb yuppies out there with money to burn and soul to sell. But hot damn, over $1000 for a new phone and watch? lol. Pass the crack pipe. This watch better tell you where all the hot corners are.

Yep same thing happened with me. Reprinted and it's more much in line with what the specs should be. Apple needs to ditch the big ass round home button and go to something different. Those bezels are just killing their ability to keep screen size in line with physical size compared to the Droid phones that are going buttonless.

[EDIT] Home button still looks a bit small to me.

I think water resistant phones are important, these are expensive devices. I've dropped my phone in the toilet before and of course it didn't work.

Boy that is one ugly and cheap looking watch.

I had high hope from Apple for a decent smart watch. Puke.

Riiight. Biggest anti-apple shill in here astroturfing as usual.

Have any of the mods verified this account yet? He fits the exact type of astroturfing that samsung was convicted of.

Printed it off and the 5.5 looks similar to my G3. Longer by far though.

It's noticeably taller than the Note 4 as well, though a bit narrower and thinner. The G3 is substantially smaller. The top right corner of the 6 Plus is going to be unreachable - explaining that one-handed mode they showed.

iPhone 6 Plus (5.5"): 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1mm 172g
LG G3 (5.5"): 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm 149g
Note 4 (5.7"): 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm 176g

Yea most people will buy it on contract. I've been off contract so long that I'm not going back. Definitely not to an iPhone again. Bring on nexus 6.

Phone Arena put up a size comparison for the normal iPhone 6. The S5 is noticably bigger in every dimensions - though it is 5.1" with waterproofing vs. 4.7" without waterproofing.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Apple-iPhone-6-against-its-Android-rivals-size-comparison_id60463

Seems like Samsung went too extreme with the Alpha - it's a much more compact phone and they could have easily made it a millimeter thicker to put in a bigger battery and still been overall more compact than the iPhone 6. I think most people are OK with the 720p screen and the SOC seems very competitive, but it would have been a much more interesting phone with a 2200mAh battery.

The bands on the back are just so ugly to me. It looks like a rough prototype with masking tape or something.
