I think the iPads suffer a lot more from memory shortages than the iPhone does. Sure, I have to reload pages from time to time on my iPhone, but it's kind of rare. On the iPad, it may be a bit worse since I'm more prone to leave more tabs open, and use more memory-hogging apps like games. Would I mind more RAM in the iPhone? Of course not (unless it had negative repercussions), but I'm not too worried about it.

When they reveal the iPads in October, I'd like to see more RAM in them. Will the same 1GB be a deal breaker? Mmmm maybe. Although, not including TouchID would be a deal breaker for me just like it was with the first Air.

It's probably more rare on the iPhone because people are probably surfing less on their 4 inch screens and using mobile websites when they do. If they have a bigger iPhone, they might surf more and use full websites like they do on their iPad.

So its confirmed 1GB RAM on both models?

Is 5C now a 64bit processor too, so now all models are crashing against the 1GB RAM ceiling?

Did they ever say anything about battery life on the watch? The 360 was said to have rather poor battery life and I can't Apple's watch doing any better in that department.

Have you actually used it? I have. You tap your phone and that's it (if you haven't opened the Wallet app in a while you'll need to put in a pin). I have all my cards in there, I can switch to whichever I need and pay with it.

I most definitely do doubt that everyone will know, especially considering the two people in my family that have iPhones have no idea how the Notification Center even works.

It's taken Google a couple of years to get to this point though. Remember when it launched there were a very limited set of cards you could actually use. Then they got the idea of using a refillable prepaid card. Now they allow a lot more cards on. And Verizon has been fighting Google wallet all the way. And some manufacturers had their own deals and blocked Google Wallet installs on their devices.

Apple is, seemingly, not going to have any of those issues.

I figure Apple hasn't actually finalized the hardware yet so they couldn't make claims about battery life. They'd let us know for sure if it had great battery life.

I don't think its hard to use, but when carriers get in the way, and when only Master Card worked at first, there's a reason why it didn't take off.

And now that Apple's finally on board, using TouchID makes perfect sense. I highly doubt we'll have a fingerprint reader as capable this time around much less a reader at all on the upcoming Nexus. Maybe 2015? Who knows.

Has Apple jumped the shark with this event, even ignoring the whole watch fad?
Seems like they are following Android and Samsung now instead of the other way around, and not even doing that great of a job with it.
It seems like Apple is playing it safe waiting for ideas to go through evolution on Android, before picking them up and pretending like it's intelligent design on their part.
So if you want to be on the forefront of technology, you need to be on Android. If you are on iOS, you'll be waiting for a year or two for things to first get tried on Android, and then filter through to iOS.
Also, spec wise, the 4.7" model should have been 1080p to stay near front of the pack at least at the time of release. ~750p display in mid 2014 is domain of low-mid range phones in Android space. iP6 will be selling till next fall with this resolution, which is already outdated for its segment.
Is it Tim Cook's influence on optimizing the supply chain and leaving low hanging fruit for next year's kicker as opposed to optimizing the product as it is now?

Apple always seems to produce new technologies right.

Google goes NFC NFC NFC! and then.....nothing. They expect everyone else to figure it out.

Apple goes NFC and heres how our payment system works. Here is who we already have partnered with. Here is why its better for you. Here is why it will help reduce fraudulent charges.

Again, implementation and follow thru are the most important parts. Not just waving your hands around and saying you have the technology but haven't implemented it anywhere useful.

As for the size, I am on the fence. Everytime I see a note I cringe. The thing is gigantic. Not sure if I want an iPhone that is that size.

Ugh, decisions decisions.

Implementation is absolutely key. I have yet to see Google roll something out that gets the industry behind it in a sheer storm. Their best implementations have been through automatic rollouts via Google Play Services or via GApps updates.

Yeah, they tried to deny access to the secure element. But Google's one notable success was permanently circumventing that with its secure element emulation built in to the Play Store version of Wallet. It just works now - on all recent devices.

No I haven't used it, because I need a new sim card to do so. I'll go to the at&t store tomorrow and get one, but the only store I know that takes it is CVS, and maybe best buy. Has that changed?

<Serious non-troll intro>

Why would anyone buy the 6+ over similar phones like the Note4/G3? I truly do not understand. Resolution, battery, memory, storage, camera don't compete. I have no doubt Apple will put together a superior software product, but that's not enough. The integrated NFC payment is long overdue and much appreciated. I just don't see the real hardware innovation.

I saw the resolution on the 4.7 and lol'd. Plus the bezels... then that ugly watch. This seems like a joke event before the reveal of their actual new products.

Probably sticking with my M7 for the time being. Wait for the M9 or next SGS.. or go Note. My fiancée will be getting the 6 or 6+ so that'll satisfy my Apple curiosity for a while.

iPhone camera is almost always the best of class. This hasn't changed since the beginning. Software is by far the most important part. Something that google consistently drops the ball on.

I am not sure what you expect since Apple hasn't been on a forefront of hardware for a long time. The last time they did was the retina display. Apple has a year long product cycle. Their competitors constantly throw stuff on the wall to see if its sticks (I am looking at you samsung). How do you expect them to compete on hardware when their competitors refresh their phones on an almost monthly basis?

Again, I am not sure how serious you are considering you dismiss software as if its not one of, if not the most important portion of a smartphone.

because they are locked into the ecosystem. Most people will stick with what they know and where they have spent hundreds of $ on apps

Meh on the watch. Maybe it will succeed. I was underwhelmed.

I think these new iPhone's will be huge hits but I wanted something lighter than my Moto X and it's really a let down to see the iPhone 6 is essentially identical in weight to my X. I'm seriously considering the Alpha now if/when it hits America.

This is not true, Apple's low light performance is trash and there are phones with MUCH better overall performance.

Sure there are phones that beat it out in one area. But since most consumers only have one phone at a time there aren't many that do it all as well as apple.

There are android phones TODAY that beat out the Iphone 5s in OVERALL camera performance.

Here's a couple pictures i saved from an anandtech review, guess which one is the Iphone 5 and the HTC One M7:

I agree and I suppose that's my complaint. I guess four years is awhile...

I did not dismiss software in the slightest. I jus think completely ignoring the other side of the coin is foolish.
