The 95P Plus Monitor From Dell Arrived Today

I ordered a monitor from Dell last week along with a number of other Forum members. The description on the page seemed to describe a Samsung 950P Monitor, and when I called Dell, they said that it was a typo, that the 0 was left off of the 95P description. It's still a great deal at $204.95, shipped. But I was wondering if anyone else expected a 950P. The deal is still posted at the Dell Website for a Samtron 95P At $204.95.

I think a lot exepected a 950P, especially since the title of the thread was Samsung monitor and at the start people said it was the 950P. Anyway, I'm interested as to the quality of this Samtron thingy.

Someone told me a while ago that Samtron is a sub-division of Samsung. Can any one confirm this?

Vietkid: The documentation and the installation disk all have Samsung's name on it. The floppy disk says that it is the Samsung Monitor Installation disk for Windows ver 3.2.

KEES, you didn't really tell us which one you received. Was it the Samtron 95P, Samtron 95P+/plus, Samsung 950P or Samsung 950P+.

Sorry, I was offline for a while. The monitor is a Samtron 95P Plus. The refresh rates are in the specs at www.samtron.com. This is only my second monitor, so I can only compare it to my IBM 15". Definitely a big improvement. I haven't had a lot of time to mess around with it yet. I was hoping that I wasn't the only one who received it today. Hope this helps.

where the hell are we supposed to get drivers for Win 2000 for this monitor...Samtron doesn't make them...
Should we use Samsung drivers for 950P??? what do you guys think?

KEES: I looked on the Samtron website and it states that they don't make Win2k drivers for 95P or 95P+...

another funny thing is that when I do a search about this monitor on Google I found only one American company that sells them...all the others were in Europe...

Kees or whoever got it, does this monitor have also BNC input? The 95p plus they sell in Europe has, the Samtron page does not mention it.

tck: The set has a BNC signal port on the rear of the set, but doesn't come with the cable. brab,the manual lists Samtron U.S.A. in Edgewood, N.J. Phone No. 800-726-8766. The set is made in Korea. The floppy disk with the drivers is made by Samsung and does have instructions for using with Win 2000.

Samtron IS Samsung. Samtron is their new CRT division.

bridddle: The Dell website is not up to date. My monitor showed that it was still being processed when it arrived at my door via UPS yesterday. You can call Dell,s Customer Service number, and they can track it for you.

Any problems with the free shipping? Did email and CC statement confirm that they shipped for free?

Btw: Funny thing is, that my work computer gives me free shipping without haveing to put the system into the cart.
