Hello everyone,
Does anyone know when this board is supposed to be released? Also, even though it's using the BX chipset and has the ability to run at a 133 MHz FSB, can the board properly divide the AGP Bus MHz, so that it isn't overclocked?, as I have seen that AGP bus is the only obstacle between running a BX chipset @ 133FSB. Any other information would be great, thanx.

Don't think there is going to be such a MB. Where did you get your information?

AFAIK there cannot be a 1/4 AGP divider using the BX chipset.

I got my information from Abit website, under the products section they have a Socket 370 mobo called the BX133-RAID which uses the BX chipset though it hasn't been released yet, well not to my knowledge.

http://www.abit-usa.com/english/product/bx133.htm

Was just curios, as I was wondering how Abit would create a 1/4 AGP divider.

Would Abit do that sort of thing... as it the main point of the board is the 133FSB, is it possible that Abit created a divider, seperate of the chipset, yes i know it sounds outlandish.. but anyway.. i'm hoping for the best.

Can you post if the board can safely run at a 133FSB withour OCing the AGP Bus?... if so, then this will truely be one amazing BX board, also post any other facts/bugs etc.. that you find with it... Thanx.
Logically though, why would you want to put int your Promise Controller Card, the board has has 2 standard IDE (ATA/33) Buses and 2 ATA/100 IDE Buses, the RAID is an extra option that must be enabled/disabled, I think. Oh well...

intel will kill them
+ its like abit shooting themselve in the foot
whats the point of buying a Se6 or SL6 now

I have feeling the setup is going to be like the Asus P3V4X, in that you can use 133FSB for the CPU and still use 100FSB for the memory and the rest of the buses. This could be how they would get around the ½ AGP divider issue.

I would assume their goal is to take advantage of a proven winner in the BX chipset for speed and reliability, while enabling you to run a 133FSB CPU on the board at the same time. Just a thought.

I'll bet my left testicle that the AGP will be running out of spec on that board at 133. The reason the P3V4X board can do that is because it's using a VIA chipset, not BX.

But how bout we all just hope that some reason that the new BX133 can run the AGP at the proper 1/2 divider... what's the point of stating that main feature is running a 133MhzFSB if it will only OC your vidcard, which would result in numerous phone calls to Abit? Well those are my thoughts...

The 440BX must run its RAM sychronously. You cannot run the RAM at 100Mhz while the chipset runs at 133Mhz.

The 440BX's AGP divider selections are deep within the North Bridge chip of the chipset. There is no way to change the divider options. It only has a 1/1 and 2/3 divider.

If you run the board with a 133 FSB, you are overclocking the chipset and the AGP slot. They already stated that more than two DIMMs at 133FSB is not supported. A full set of three 16 or 18 chip DIMMs is probably not possible. 8 chip, maybe.

Stop hoping for a 1/2 AGP divider out of 440BX. It will not happen.

I agree with IceStorm, a 1/2 agp divider on a 440bx is just too good to be true.

Tharyn, I think the "133 For All" is actually refering to Abit's BX 133 Overclocking Guide that can be found in Appendix F of the BE6-2 manual (BE6-IIE.PDF). The guide contains a list of RAMS and AGP/PCI graphic cards verified to run at 133fsb on Abit BX mobos.

Oh well.. too bad.. that would have been one amazing mobo if it had the 1/2 AGP divider. Well I guess i'm going to have to wait for something that can actually replace a BX motherboard...

I have the fedex tracking numbers now for my BX133 boards. I will post in this forum when I get them and I will test that AGP theory.I have my fingers crossed.Abit has hyped this board up pretty good and they are known for keeping good little tweeks close to the vest. The imphatic statement of "completely stable at 133" just smacks the face of bx.We all asume there is no way to 1/2 the AGP. We soon will see.

I am still surprised at the number of people who have fallen for the Abit hype machine. Essentially it's just a BX mobo with extra built-in features such as RAID or the currently not so useful ATA100, but otherwise offers little new.

It if proves to be good quality then great, but we'll have to see about that. I just hope people don't run out and spend their CAD$200 on this board based on hype, because there are much cheaper Abit boards which will be enough for them, and there are better brands for less too.

I agree with Eug... though all I'm really hoping for and keeping my fingers crossed like Tripleshot, is the whole "Stable at 133" thing.. only time will tell..
