The Alchemist

My friend gave me this book and insisted that i read it. It's a book about a shepard who goes on a quest to find treasure by the egyption pyramids. But it is much much more than that. This was the most inspiring and motivating book I have ever read. I read it in about 2.5 hours last night and then stayed up just thinking about the book and about my life.

I just really wanted to share this with you because even though i thought this wasn't my kind of book it really was.

Weird.
I just ordered that book, and it came from Amazon today.
I am reading A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, but as soon as I finish, I will read The Alchemist.

Picked it up a few years back and read all of Paulo Coelho's other books. "Veronika Decides to Die" was also very good.

oh and i guess i should warn some of you this book deals a lot with spirituality and a higher power and i am not at all a religious person (agnostic leaning towards atheist) and i think that even someone who is atheist can still get a lot out of this book without believing in a higher power.

i have never felt the need to share a book with people like this before. its the kind of book i should have been made to read in highschool.
