Desktop Roadmap + Haswell Refresh Platform + 22nm != Broadwell

The "Refresh Platform" probably refers to the new chipsets with SATA Express, etc which we know are coming.

That roadmap clearly shows 14nm only coming in with Skylake for the desktop.

It makes sense that they will continue to utilise their 22nm fabs for desktop parts, which don't really care that much about TDP drops and IGP improvements (which is all Broadwell is likely to bring), while using their new 14nm fabs for mobile parts (both Broadwell laptop parts and 14nm Atom).

It makes zero sense. And you know the only place you got any information is the rumour mill. Atleast you dont say Skylake is BGA only anymore.

Every single release have had their blatantly wrong rumour now. Yet some people believes the next one straight away.

You have trouble understanding what is explained in theses slides...

VRs are not VRMs , this is the name of the full circuit , that is ,
a Voltage Regulator wich included in usual MBs an integrated
circuit , (a pulse width modulator that drive VRMs) , and Voltage
Regulation Mosfets that do the high current switching through
inductances as well as other mosfets used as rectifying devices.

The VRMs are not included in the die , only the command
circuit , saying otherwise is just prove of clulessness , i already
told you , look at the motherboards.

When did I ever say that Skylake is BGA only? The original story even said that Skylake was likely to bring back the socket.

I got the original information from the rumour mill, yes. But now there is a leaked Intel roadmap which shows no 14nm on the desktop until Skylake.

Does anybody have any idea why AMD didn't add a Turbo mode for the A4-5000? Does it make sense in any way? It seems like they could easily have achieved perhaps 30% higher single threaded burst performance, so why skip it? Are they saving it for a refresh in 6-9 months?

Fairly likely- they did the same with Bobcat. Perhaps they had a last minute bug with the Turbo, and didn't have time to fix it so they disabled it on the first batch and will fix it in a respin.

It's possible and probable that 1.5 GHz is the "sweet spot" and adding a turbo might just make the overall perf/Watt look worse.
