Click view public profile for the person you want to ignore, then under user lists click add to ignore list.

And no there isn't documentation or a SDK released to the public yet. They did tell developers that they can get a beta version if they contact them. The public version I think they were trying for later this year or next year.

Nope not yet. Seems the API and documentation are being privately shared only, and you have to contact AMD as a big studio to get invited into the club that has access to it.

We don't actually know if we will be able to download the SDK, read the documentation and write our own games with it or whether it will be licensed through AMD and never be publicly available.

No.
Drawcalls is one piece of the puzzle of a frame.
You cannot say 10 x drawcalls more = ~10 x more performance.

Well you could, but that would indicate you have no clue.

It's not like drawcalls are some magical "lever" holding FPS back unilaterally.

You could increase drawcall potential from 15K to 100K in a game...and not gain a single frame...but that would be an outlier

More realistically you would see from 1-~10% preformance increase...on ~5% of SKU's in the market.

Excuse me for not popping the champagne

45% more FPS has been mentioned just in BF4.

The devil is in the details

That could be 2 vs 3 fps for all we know in a limited senario...

Except AMD would not do all this work for that, basically your just poo pooing Mantle.

There are 5 games being made with Mantle, why would the developers do all that work for little gain?

sounds like your just being negative for the sake of it.

The performance graph looks nothing like the one in the BF4 demonstration during their press conference. I know this is in MP, but the server is basically empty so it shouldn't be that much different than SP.

As for the settings in that video, is it not stupid to use 4xMSAA and 200% resolution scale? Shouldn't resolution scale fix the jaggies on it's own?

As has been said, Mantle would be completely pointless if it were likely for this to be a common scenario, especially in low FPS situations where performance is needed the most. Not only a waste of time, money, but damaging to AMD's reputation - it would be a bad move for any company to make.

Of course AMD is going to tout their best case scenario - up to 45% still leaves room for a lot of speculation, but this "2 vs 3fps" scenario is nothing but a fantasy and simply outlandish compared to AMD's claim.

That was his point.

Best case scenario is 45%, but for all we know, that best case scenario is with an APU struggling in a particular area, getting 6 FPS.

Of course that isn't likely what we'll get, but 45% performance boosts, as we typically expect them (average), isn't likely either.

OTOH, if you follow your logic, any product ever made by any company should never be a failure, because they wouldnt have made it, right?

I expect mantle to shine at lower resolutions, and less at bigger ones. Thats because the time to render at higher resolutions is higher, and although they will be removing driver overhead with mantle, the impact will be less at such resolutions.

That isn't solid logic unfortunately.

Yes it is.

EA doesnt go spending money on developing for Mantle when it doesnt actually do anything beneficial.

I think there is alot of Nvidia fanboi's here worried that their Titans are going to look slow when Mantle drops. All they will be left with is a bunch of useless technologies which only work on TN panels.

i have to say im in the market for new GPU's but Mantle is putting me off buying team green. That and their rip off pricing.

I'm not worried about Mantle, I have a hexacore Intel CPU...I'm not lacking in the CPU department? ^^

Have you really failed to comprehend everything? Most of the time your hexacores are sitting there doing nothing. Mantle will actually put all of those cores to work for you.
