A nice 25% gain for 7970 there.
Also, those crossfire results mean I can Max the game out and get 120fps on my 950d. Totally worth it. When the fix crossfire that is.

its only purpose being to try and sell AMD's low end CPUs. That strategy only works if everyone makes games for Mantle and that wont happen unless it has tangible benefits without having an AMD CPU.
Whoah that is nothing short of groundbreaking (if true)!

http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/am..._end_cpusnot_mainstream_and_high_end_pcs.htmlFrame pacing (Frame latency)
The first being that AMD Catalyst 14.1 is the “phase 2” frame pacing driver they announced in October of last year. It enables frame pacing support in DX10 and DX11 applications on resolutions higher than 1600p with products that don’t feature AMDs XDMA technology. Example products include the HD 7000 Series, or the R9 280X and R9 270X GPU. This driver also helps improve the frame pacing in AMD Dual Graphics configurations, such as the new “Kaveri” APU paired with an AMD Radeon R7 250 GPU! We encourage you and your readers to test our initial implementation, and provide feedback as you’re able.
Intresting that it give more advantage CF.

up to 55% dam wow for CF.
The release has XFire JUST for 290 290X 260X and 7790Wow that is pretty awesome. Of course no one can test crossfire since the release doesn't have it but when it comes that is well worthwhile.
Games providers are not interested in a tiny market that would
require 1000$+ systems to show their production in good light,
rather they are gearing toward the PC mass market to render
games attractive for the biggest part of consumers rather than
for the usual elite that hang on enthusiasts forums.
Just for older XFire with good ol' bridge, not with XDMAThe driver has stuttering in crossfire when you use mantle according to AMD.

55% increase with the best CPU and 290x crossfire? I'm amazed.

Cf is not in this release. 7970 neither. gcn 1.0 missing on first release. And in general some memory and gpu optimizations still not made yet but comming next patches. Unfortunately it seems those msaa optimizations is missing also and have to wait. Quite beta but at least we have started.

Until I see performance comparisons for NVidia, I'm skeptical..
AMD has had issues with CPU utilization in their drivers for some time now. I'm not sure if these issues are due to Direct 3D itself, or just AMD's inability to parallelize their drivers..
Later on today I may play through that exact area and see what kind of frame rate I'm getting so I can compare.. With V-sync off I've seen frame rates at nearly 200 FPS at times, and this is on custom ultra settings with 90 FOV, and 2x MSAA @ 1440p. Everything else is maxed..
So it is pretty worthless for all the guys with high end cpus, it can be interesting to APU buyers though.TBH I expected more from it, as a low level api, I am not impressed so far.But then the real question arises do people really buy APUs to play BF4? because if they have other hobbies as well it will fall short.
He is right. AMD has said that clearly that CF will have issues when using mantle and with Mantle CF can cause and instability and stuttering. You keep repeating this mantra, yet the AMD cards are beating the competing NV cards at the price brackets such as 290 vs. 780. Do you have any proof that this so called "inability" is anything more than an Nv marketing bulletpoint? Who cares if it means nothing in the end?
Did you miss the crossfire results? It's very useful for the highest end too.
55% with lag, instability and stutter.AMD has said clearly.Up to 55% is hard to believe. That's crazy.

Doesn't that DX crossfire framerate seem crazy low? 78fps at 1080p in single player on two R290s?
Clearly its a rushed job, because a lack of proper CF for R290s is ridiculous when DX11 CF works flawlessly.
EA rushed DICE in releasing a bugged BF4 way too early, then AMD/EA rush DICE to release this Mantle patch way too early again.

Where do they state this mantle version isn't for crossfire? I wonder why they publish the smoking crossfire results if it's not being released today?
