Thought the finale was anticlimactic. Some tense moments in the beginning but if you saw previews you knew what was coming. Was sad seeing the lab guy like that, he was my favorite character of the season and now he's just wasting away. Then Directorate S stuff was weird too, Arkady will be exiled AND his son is going back to Russia even though that woman isn't going to Kenya now? And what's the deal with (I assume) Phillip's kid in Russia, is he going to try and track him down now? Could be interesting, but the long episode just seemed to flounder a lot.
I think we are somewhere in Season2 now. It's turned into a Cinemax soft porn. Not unwatchable, but just blah. Also, what parents can just wander around whenever they want leaving their 2 children at home? I'll keep watching for what will be the eventual payoff of the neighbors.

In the time period it is set in pretty much any parent, especially given that both kids are teens. The "helicopter mother hen" parents are a fairly recent development.

I hope the whole Russia hacking thing boosts ratings for the show, even though it's probably down the home stretch.
Ratings for the show was horrid but damn the show is so good. I don't know why it never caught on with the general public. Maybe too slow burn.

Most people seem obsessed with reality shows or yet another superhero series. The Americans is up there with Breaking Bad as my 5 all time favorite shows. Makes me so sad to see the weekly ratings
That is fine though. I don't like when they run shows into the ground. I just hope it continues to be good until the end. You can see what is slowly happening to Paige though...now that they've gotten a final season date/episode count the ratings don't matter
From a preview article I read regarding this season they are going to increasingly force viewers to "take a side" as the season progresses. They have been doing a pretty good job of setting up a lot of contrasts in the first episodes and showing the stark differences between the 2 world views. Really interesting to me is the young Vietnamese kid and his attitudes as they are being revealed.That is fine though. I don't like when they run shows into the ground.
